Q: Is anyone else EXTREMELY skeptical of the latest reviews all from Sept 4th?
There are reviews from new accounts all 15-20 minutes of each other with exactly 1 buy (this product) all leaving a 5 star review, after quite a bit of time without any reviews.
I don't want to directly accuse anyone of sandbagging the terrible rating that was here before, but it does seem suspicious how so many first time buyers all left reviews 1 after the other 15-20 minutes apart on the same day to salvage the rating for this.
10 people joined AppSumo yesterday, all bought ViaBill as their first and only deal and all reviewed it within 10 minutes of each other! What a coincidence. 😂

Because they are FAKE reviews. Who would be behind fake glowing reviews? I'm not blaming Appsumo, I am blaming this company. This deal should be pulled!
Viabill couldn't be this so naive to believe that spamming the page with positive reviews would actually be effective. I don't know why an outside party would do this either, but it has happened before on Appsumo....just never at such a large scale!

I am right there with you - I submitted a ticket to AppSumo as well to investigate this. Swift action should be taken against them. This is just pathetic. I hope they are never invited here again. What a joke.
Q: Four new reviews have been posted today, all 5 tacos.
All four of these were written by brand new profiles that were only just created today and their only purchase is Viabill.
Two of these reviews have stated that they have been using it for a few days or weeks, both of which are blatant lies. A review can only be made after a purchase. A purchase can only be made after you have created a profile. These 2 reviews are 100% fake. The other 2...
Ya. Holy shit. This is sooooo scummy. I actually think ViaBill is behind this. They got slammed hard in ratings super early on and had been avoided like the plague since then. Weeks later they get all of these new accounts and 5 star reviews?? I think they're behind it, honestly. AppSumo NEEDS to take action. Wow. This is unreal and I believe a first here. Although a bunch of deals would need to be purchased to achieve this by a bad actor, they could simply refund the deals after making the reviews, and essentially game the system. However, I would be shocked if this was actually being done by the founder as no one could be this naive to think people would fall such a blatant spam review attempt.

Who else would use credit cards and actually BUY 10+ deals so they could leave a review?
A deal can instantly be refunded after leaving a review, effectively gaming the system. So anyone could do this for free!

Maybe some has done this to bury my long 1 taco review about their product. The one that got over 50 "helped" clicks.

Keep in mind that 10+ separate accounts and actual purchases had to have been made to allow all these fake reviews. That is a lot of effort...!

Appsumo can see IP addresses and has the credit card and billing address...so a little research would reveal a lot...
