Misleading
Videolinq is a bit misleading on here about the platform being completely free for using on social media. It's not. This is a nice platform but does not work with all CDNs and they basically force you to use their's.... and it costs money per each use.

May 9, 2024Thank you for your review. I want to comment back on the claim that the offer is misleading to avoid giving the wrong impression to other Sumo-Lings that read your review.
Videolinq offers 4 ways of providing a video source to a live channel (a live stream used for distribution to social media):
1. Stream from RTMP encoder like OBS.
2. Stream from your webcam.
3. Stream from another live video source (must be RTSP or RTMP source).
4. Stream from a MP4 file (must be hosted on a media server that support RTMP pull).
When you use source 1 to 3 you are the origin of the video. Using OBS, you stream from your computer. Using a webcam you stream from a computer or mobile device. Using another live video source you pull that video from another media server or streaming service.
When you use source # 4 we only support at this time files hosted on ANY media server that support RTMP pull. This can be a Wowza server, Red, Nimble or CDN's that support RTMP output (plenty of them). The reason we ask for a RTMP path to the file and can't take a file posted on a Google drive is because the file must constantly "stream" to the channel to prevent it breaks in transport. We understand that many Sumo-Lings don't have access to this kind of technology and offer a low cost storage bin on our media servers where you can upload MP4 files via FTP client (FileZilla etc). The same storage bin we offer can be also used to point any HTML5 player and stream out of that bin to the player to your website or blog. There is obviously a discounted cost of $0.18 per GB used when you pull video from this bin, to your channel as a file source, or to our player or any 3rd party player.
Estimated cost:
When you pull an MP4 file you uploaded as RTMP to your Videolinq channel you will be paying less than $0.50 per hour to source that stream. The remaining process of sending the video to YouTube and Facebook or other social media destination is included with your initial AppSumo plan deal.
The alternative to not paying this fee is to place the file on another media server or CDN that support RTMP pull. If this is not possible, just put the file on your computer and use the free OBS software to point to the file, and send the video to Videolinq as RTMP (option source 1 listed above).
If you want the convenience of uploading the file to Videolinq, plan for an additional nominal cost. By the way, if you stream 10 hours per week you will be paying below $5. Little over the cost of a Starbucks Latte :)
