Vista Social is Lying

Vista Social claims that removing twitter/x posting from the LTD is justified due to a sudden increase in API cost. This is untrue, and every AS user who purchased plans that included this feature should be entitled to a refund. Here are the facts:

A month ago, X.com announced that they would be changing their terms specifically for enterprise users already paying $42k a year, to include a share of their revenue (source: https://mashable.com/article/elon-musk-x-twitter-api-revenue-share-model-change).

The last API rate hike affected the three basic tiers from last year; it is highly unlikely these are the plans Vista Social was using, based on their own statements in their recent email. ( source: https://dataconomy.com/2024/10/30/x-api-pricing-increase/)

They claim the free API plan is no longer available. This is untrue. The free API plan is still available (source: https://docs.x.com/x-api/introduction). Beyond that, VS would never have been able to use the API for free unless their users cumulatively posted less than 500 posts per month. Then, in the course of a month or two, usage skyrocketed to over 300k posts per month. Which is highly unlikely.

There are only three scenarios where these actions make sense:
-They had been using the pro plan and, due to the growth of the platform, they are being required to upgrade to an enterprise plan

-They are already on an enterprise plan and don't want to give up additional revenue.

-Their financial picture is bleak, they are on the verge of failing, and this cut was needed to try to save the company.

None of these scenarios, nor any scenario short of the business shutting down, is an acceptable reason to not honor the agreement with LTD holders.

If they can't afford the bill, fine. But then they should allow users to add their own API key so that, as individuals, we can use the xAPI free account (in most cases) and not be required to make additional purchases at marked-up rates for features we already paid for.

If they are not willing to let users BYOK, honor the existing agreement, or at least be truthful in their reasoning and offer some kind of increased value for the increased expense, I see no reason why AS should defend this behavior as justified.

Not Honouring the Deal

I was happy enough with Vista Social although admittedly have been using it less recently as I used an AI option more frequently however they are now adding monthly fees to use the Twitter/X integration which is in breach of the AppSumo Lifetime Deal which states that all social networks are included.

One of the best purchases I've made on AppSumo

I use Vista Social to replace Hootsuite and haven't had to look back, may have had issue a couple times with videos but ultimately it's been an overall great purchase, wish I bought tier 4 instead of three. They have been great at keeping up-to-date tutorials and have been quick to respond to any issues that I've had.

SCAM ALERT: Bait-and-Switch "Lifetime Deal" – Avoid Vista!

SCAM ALERT: Bait-and-Switch "Lifetime Deal" – Avoid Vista!

Do NOT trust Vista’s "Lifetime Deal" promises. I paid for what was advertised as UNLIMITED resources, only for them to silently impose a 1GB limit months later. This is a textbook bait-and-switch scam.

Why this is unacceptable:
False Advertising: Sold as "lifetime unlimited," now retroactively capped.

Zero Warning: No email, no consent—just woke up to broken functionality.

Underhanded Tactics: Quietly altering terms after taking our money is predatory.

Vista betrayed paying customers who supported them early. My account is now useless for real-world use. Their excuse? "Terms may change"—a cowardly cover for scamming loyal users.

To potential buyers: Run. If they’ll exploit LTD purchasers, they’ll exploit you too.
To Vista: Restore the original terms or refund every LTD customer you deceived.

I am no longer interested in appsumo as about half the deals have done the same scam or just walked away. Can anything be done sumos end? If not i am out.

They treat their LTD users horribly.

I have been using Vista Social without issue for the past couple of years. The software worked as intended and I felt I was getting my money's worth. There were some features that were lacking, but the overall app worked well enough that I put those aside.

That was until a couple of weeks ago when I was trying to upload my shorts and then my linkedin posts.

Nothing was uploaded. After a search, I found that they recently and WITHOUT NOTIFYING THEIR CUSTOMER BASE that they drastically reduced the upload limits to 1GB or 100 images per 24 hours. This was only implemented to legacy and LTD plans.

I generally upload a month of shorts (avg 200mb), a month of posts, and a month of carousels at the beginning of each month. With the new limits, I'd be posting nearly daily for 2.5-3 weeks to get the content in which I don't have time to do and defeats the point of a scheduler.

Yes, they say unlimited posts, but they are limiting in another way so drastically (can't be realistically used for shorts unless you're scheduling a few posts at a time) that it makes the software unusable.

And the worst part, is they never notified users of this change. I had to find it buried in the fine print. I've talked to other users as well and they weren't notified either. This is bad business practice.

To be honest, I'm getting leery of Appsumo LTDs because once they are off Appsumo and got their money, they treat those who supported them when they needed an influx of cash, as second-class citizens.

The software works if you pay a monthly subscription, but their support is horrible and takes 12-24 hours to get a response, if you get one at all. I would not recommend this company in the future. And that's sad, because I had recommended them in the past.
