Q: As a developer, I was interested in this tool initially because of the collaboration aspect and the pixel perfect css coding capabilities.
When I tried the tool out I found that there is no way to move the floating panel down from the top of the screen which is a non-starter in responsive mode. You can't move the panel to inspect and tweak the elements and this is a huge problem when you're trying to tweak your responsive screens.
So I took the time to make a video showing the problem and asking questions about what to do in that scenario. I saw that the video has been watched. But I have not heard back from anyone. I'm hoping to get an answer soon on my issue.
If the floating box cannot be moved vertically, then it's a serious problem.
Is there going to be an answer or reponse to this question? I also sent a helpful video into support and got no response on the either. The support is looking disappointing at this stage.
Q: Don't know if I'm missing something, but I bought it only to find out it's the exact same thing that I ...
already had, except for a second team member... I'm suppose to be able to add as many "colleagues" as I want, so they can review... It never worked as expected...
Anyway, since I added it to my existing account, can I ask for a refund without loosing the account I already had?
what i have gathered, unlimited, urls. The software doesnt inport the whole website, you are required to add each separate url you wish to edit & comment. Can be time consuming if you are building a big site.
Q: If nobody is answering the different questions, why don't you close this questions section entirely?
If there are no responses, why anyone should buy this product?
Q: Does this work with a website built on WordPress?
How does it work? Do we just install it as a plugin or insert a script?
And then where does the client input his comment? Is it in the live site or through something else? If possible, in the live site, we want this to be visible only for the intended client and not for all public to use.
Q: Hi after setting up on site integration, the simplest implementation given my clients ability's, the visual ...

This would make it much more feasible for constant collaboration instead of just staging, thanks in advance.
Q: Hi,
I already bought (on Product Hunter I think) the lifetime account...
When I look at my account, it says my current plan is "Collaborator", even though it doesn't even exist on the sales page (same as "Pro"?)...
So, 1- If I understand, I currently don't have - Unlimited Scribble Projects (do I even have Scribble at all?) - Single editor per project? - Unlimited reviewers & collaborators (the plan I currently have?) - Add/remove members...
So, right now, what I had to do is to ask my clients to buy the software as well to be able to comment and make modifications... Does that mean that with the Team account I could create an account for them and then they would be able to comment and modify it without needing to have an account? Because I found the free version pretty useless in that regard...
2- Since I already have a lifetime account, would there be a special price of users like me?
3- What am I missing with my current account vs the Team (2 users instead if 5) one?
Hey Sumo-ling, thanks for being an early adopter..
You clients don't need to buy license to collaborate ( review & approve changes, reply to comments etc..).
Team account helps in managing if you have multiple folks in the same team making changes ( and they don't need to buy licenses.). If you didn't need in last few months, you won't need it now.
Just tested again on another site (my collaborator license), and if I share the link and use it on another computer: 1- I NEED to install the VI Chrome extension; without it, I can access the site... bad, because that means that you need to ask the client to install something to be able to review and comment your changes; 2- After installing, the free version only allows them to use the inspector; i.e. they can't see my comments or comment themselves unless the buy a paid subscription... Really bad
You're saying that they shouldn't have to be paid members to comment, but is there another way to do it than to send the link generated to them?
If I buy the Team one: 1- Will I be able to use the same account (i.e. upgrade) or I will have to create a new one? 2- Will I be able to add my clients as "team members/collaborators" so that they can comment on the site without creating an account (and, hopefully, installing the extension)?
1- CSS Hero is only for WP, VI isn't 2- CSS Hero is a CSS editor; VI allows you to make some changes, but then you need to apply them (ex: copy the generated CSS code) on your site 3- VI allows collaboration and commenting, CSS Hero doesn't
Q: Hi,
Asking a couple of questions again, Improve the response rate please:
1.
- How do I realise when someone makes a change or a comment? Do I receive an email notification or something like that?
2.- Can I have unlimited guest customers making changes and comments on the designs with this plan? I understand that the 2 seats are for team members, but what about customers?
3.- 2 Seats are ok for starting but what happens when you need more seats? How much will you charge per extra seat? I imagine that you have a special price/discount for Sumo-lings.
Q: So if we share the link with our team or clients and the feedback comes back from multiple sources:
a) how ...
does Visual Inspector reconcile conflicting changes/feedback?
b) after any necessary reconciliation can we continue to collaborate and refine the page(s)?
c) when we are done can we just click 'accept' and push those changes into WordPress or do we still have to do the development work against the site separately? If the former, how does that work? With a custom child style sheet?
a) I can accept these changes and push them right into WP through the plugin for this plan or does that require an upgrade?
b) do I have to keep this plugin active or can I deactivate it when we are not developing?
c) this is just for css, correct? If the client wants something like a widget moved which would require more than CSS work, this won't do that right? (i.e., it only modifies the child css and not anything like the functions file?
d) does this work for any theme/framework like Genesis or Avada or Divi?
Just following up on this. Can you please take a look?
Q: Hi i have read a few questions and see guests require to create login to comment to keep everything safe?
can we have a dashboard to manage these clients (sign them up ourselves) and comments? even delete the client and all comments related to the project? Most of my clients arnt techy and i dont want to waste time in educating them to use the tool. Or another solution you have in mind to make the process easier for non tech clients. I dont want to keep signing up my clients to use your tool. I have bought it however i will be waiting for iomprovements with collaboration as i might have to refund.
My experience of this tool has been at times it's great, and then it's buggy. I can't seem to get the tool to keep me logged in, or log in at all often. Which is huge as then you create a bunch of code edits and then can't save them. I love the idea of this, as someone who often needs to give a developer an example of what I want. However, Vipul will not honor the LTD I already bought as an early adopter (see my other comment) like including the other version of the tool they are now offering. What does that mean for sumolings with this LTD? The deal is a meh.. for me. hopefully, better for others.
Q: I recently received a email tell me about a refund of visual inspector.
It's a error. I never call a refund of this app. Fix this problem please. It's an error.

The company is closing the app - everyone who bought this deal is being refunded
Q: Please bring it back, thanks a bunch!

Q: Hi, customer support is super unresponsive, is that the case for you as well?
I am VERY stuck as to how to get started with the tool. I am clueless about how-where to install the Sketch plug in, etc..
I could not find a blog nor other area where to get this information, I have also requested a demo from within the platform itself.
Can anyone help?
Best,
R - aka disappointed Sumo-ling :(

Looking at their plans it, it seems that version control is in the Enterprise tier
Hey Patrick, thanks for the queries. This'll be helpful:
1. If you make changes and share the link for feedback, others can only reply to comments (ask you to make specific change.)
2. Yes. You can make any number of changes iteratively at any point in time.
3. You can use WP plugin for Visual Inspector to get all changes just by one click. It'll add a custom CSS file without bothering your actual code.
Hope this helps. Feel free to reach for more queries.
Cheers!!
Thanks for this. So that I'm clear:
a) I can accept these changes and push them right into WP through the plugin for this plan or does that require an upgrade?
b) do I have to keep this plugin active or can I deactivate it when we are not developing?
