Q: Clarification re privacy
Hello
This seems like a great tool! I was hoping you could clarify the privacy and data retention. The FAQ for this topic, I think, is pointing to an unrelated answer. And in the sales pitch it’s a little vague “avoid data retention” or something similar … is this a setting or something to opt into? I realise that AI engines behind the app will be processing data on their servers but could you clarify what data is sent/retained/used? Thank you and look forward to hopefully coming on board.
Thx
Dan

Apr 15, 2026A: Hi Dan, thanks for your thoughtful question. We're happy to clarify this.
VoiceDash is designed with privacy in mind. While audio is briefly processed by the AI engine to generate transcription, recordings themselves are not stored or retained by VoiceDash.
Additionally, transcription history is kept locally on your device only and is not synced to external servers, which helps protect your data and conversations.
So in short:
- Audio is processed for transcription but not stored
- Recordings are not retained
- Transcript history stays on your device
- VoiceDash does not maintain a cloud archive of your conversations
The mention of “avoid data retention” refers to this privacy-first design — it’s not a setting you need to enable.
🤝Perfect, we have a deal! Thank you!
Thank You! I also checked the FAQ you mentioned as well, and you’re right, the answer there does seem unrelated to the privacy and data retention question.
I’ll raise this with our team so it can be reviewed and corrected. Really appreciate you flagging it!
