Q: Delay after pressing Hotkeys
I've tried VoiceDash for over two weeks now, and what I'm consistently seeing is a delay of at least three to four seconds (sometimes up to five seconds) before it recognises my microphone and starts listening to my voice.
I haven't seen this with other competitive products I've tried. With those, the microphone lights up immediately and starts listening immediately when I press the Hotkeys. However, with VoiceDash, I have consistently seen a very long delay. As a result, it is not picking up the first three, or four words that I speak. is there any update on this? This has been happening since day one.

Apr 14, 2026A: Hi! Thanks for your detailed feedback, and sorry for the inconvenience this delay has been causing.
Our team is already working on improvements to this behavior, and optimizations are planned for the upcoming updates.
The delay you’re experiencing usually happens because VoiceDash needs a short moment after pressing the hotkey to initialize the microphone, activate the input session, and connect the transcription pipeline before it starts listening. On some Windows systems, this setup step can take a few seconds depending on device configuration and audio driver response time. During that brief window, the first few spoken words may not be captured yet.
As a temporary workaround, we recommend pausing for about 1–2 seconds after pressing the hotkey before speaking, which helps ensure the microphone is fully active.
If the issue continues, you can also contact us directly from VoiceDash → Settings → Support, so the team can check your case more closely.
We really appreciate you reporting this, and improvements are already in progress for future updates.
