Close but questionable implementation on iOS
I really like it on desktop. It works well with my Apple Silicon Mac, but I am wondering if it's safe for iOS.
I see that it has a constant live activity, which is frustrating since I rely on that live activity feature for other apps from time to time. Even after I removed the live activity access for the app on iOS, there is a microphone active indication at all times, even when the phone is locked.
You would think that when you're not actively using the transcription feature or keyboard, the microphone would close, but it does not seem to be the case.
Aside from that, I'm really enjoying the product, and I have reached out to support directly. Hopefully they can help figure out and resolve this continuous open‑mic issue that seems to be a security concern.

Thank you very much for your thoughtful feedback we’re really glad to hear VoiceDash is working well for you on desktop, and we truly appreciate you raising this concern about iOS.
To clarify, the microphone indicator you’re seeing on iOS does not mean VoiceDash is continuously recording audio. The indicator appears because iOS shows when an app has microphone permission available while running in the background. VoiceDash only listens when you actively trigger dictation from the VoiceDash keyboard outside of that, no audio is being captured.
If you prefer not to see the indicator, you can fully close the VoiceDash app and it will disappear. The microphone is not active while your phone is locked unless dictation is manually triggered.
We understand why this can feel concerning from a privacy perspective, and feedback like yours is especially helpful as we continue refining the iOS experience. Our team is actively reviewing improvements around this behavior.
