This is one of those tools I've been looking out for a lifetime deal on, having seen dozens of adverts for whispr. I've got it installed on a Windows 11 workstation and generally very impressed.

It seems to transcribe everything I say accurately and the setup is pretty straightforward as well.

I've also tried adding custom instructions, where if I use a couple of keywords, it will translate whatever I say into a well-formatted prompt for an AI tool rather than for human reading. So you can add a little bit of intelligence to what it outputs which I think is great, and it could be good fun experimenting with us.

The only real gremlin I have is with activating it using the hotkeys. I've got it set up to default on Windows, and sometimes when I press the hotkeys and start speaking nothing happens. Other times it works as I expected.

I haven't been able to work out why this happens yet?

And how to fix it as has alluded me because sometimes it just seems to start working after tinkering around for a while. You can manually click the little icon which sits of the foots of your screen to start recording, which sometimes seems to fix the issue and the hotkeys start working. Magically.

Other than that, I've not seen many of the issues other people are listing so it's a solid 4 tacos from me which will be, five if the issues with the hotkeys are fixed..

A recent update has eliminated issues I was encountering, It now just works exactly how you would want it two so it is a five Taco from me we
