The experience we have had with the staff supposed to provide support has just been very disappointing.
We actually had VooPlayer PRO since 2012 with 50GB of storage space before investing in this AppSumo deal (5 GB).
The intent was to merge them and have access to 55 GB since we're m using the exact same details for both i.e. email address and login details.
No such thing.
We can't access our AppSumo deal account and neither can we access our existing 50 GB hosting.
We were told that when VooPlayer migrated to v4 things changed - You can't use v3 anymore by the way as it's been sunset and you're automatically forced to try to migrate to v4.
We were asked to provide proof of our purchase for the 50 GB which we did - we sent the receipt. Still nothing.
The system won't allow that to happen in our case and we have raised this to VooPlayer directly and have an audit trail of emails to show for it.
We've dealt with 3 different people from Mila to Petar with no success and AppSumo support is looking into this.
Obviously we are very unhappy with this customer experience and if this is indicative of the new face of VooPlayer it is not encouraging.
0 tacos. So far Vooplayer has been unusable for me. A black line shows up either on top or on the side of the video player regardless of size of video. Response from their support team was "I am not sure if it is possible to get a better result, so I will consult with our development team and get back to you as soon as I get any feedback." And then they stopped responding to our tickets.
Very good, but some product management and community relationship issues
So generally, I think this is a super good product for the price. But read some of the negative space comments, and kinda weirdness with the plans changing as well as no real ala-cart options for some business use cases. For my use cases in testing, with API calls and such, Very interesting and useful for secured videos.
Looking through the comments though, the company probably needs a better set of strategic customer management employees to align expectations and product offerings via Sumo.
Personally, I would like to see box or google drive integration as well ( understanding that might be more difficult), and my use case would not be to use their storage plans (although for a vimeo replacement, this would be kinda key.).

Excellent!
I am using VooPlayer to help launch a web application I am building. This was one of my best purchases in 2018!

First Class
VooPlayer is so much better than the "old days" when it was more complicated and expensive to host your own videos with a customizable player.
