Great features but lacking still

Love the features of agency, whitelabel, user login, charging for sites, etc. Great drag and drop builder that is easy for anyone to design on.
Lacking:
- Need subdomains
- Better templates that are updated with more modern designs.

WebStarts Burns 'em all!

I'm not a very good reviewer since I don't review much!
5++ TACO's

In my experience 20 years of website building, for the past 5 years I searched and searched to replace WordPress to no avail. I actually gave up a few months ago and started to build my own from scratch - it was a special order very simple site. That was great re-learning the newer tools, I managed to build a responsive site with hamburger menu that got fantastic speed results close to 99% so I must be doing something right... but coding by hand is slow, too slow -- but cleared my head from the rabble of disappointing builders that crossed my path.

I purchased 2 codes of WebStarts a while back, why not I've tried every other damn cheap really, and i had 60 days to try so why not. I built a one page website which was ok, but it wasn't a real project so I left it.

I came back a few days ago since I had to make a decision to keep or not and had forgotten it completely - but this time I attempted a real problem and was able to solve it in WebStarts, and it was painless? I scratched my head, and continued (couldn't figure out a few things) but went ahead set up a site with domain and SSL. Wow, that worked! I'm not sure how others see this but I am overjoyed it all worked 'first time'. Then I wanted to try a blog and Help is excellent and I found out how... because Help is excellent. Videos are simple direct and straight forward.

WebStarts seems to have most things I needed with WordPress but in a far simplified environment. I have build 3 websites now (1 each evening), moved the domains over and they'll be ready to launch when signed off. There's even the aspect of professional email - I think I can bring them over too?

I uploaded a video as easily as uploading an image 'wow', and it plays without showing youtube ads which is heaven. 100 GB per website unlimited everything is beyond sensible. How can they do it? But they can because they have the infrastructure sorted - all whilst maintaining excellent speeds - and I regularly check website speed at Goole or GT, and WebStarts 'shines'.

Most things are that easy - and they just work - and that is the wow factor for me. It appears well made, solid, works, has got it all.

Easy to learn, good help support, all the modules, great infrastructure, video, 100 GB per site, speed. I'm pretty sure I'm home. The only thing wrong is I have to tell all my friends the deal is over :( but maybe I can stop searching for a WordPress replacement. I think so.

But, they can improve. The first contact (via their chat) was answered promptly, but the send contact wasn't answered in 3 days. That led me to searching the Help and finding the answers for myself. Having found the answers so easily was a good experience, so I didn't miss not getting a response, much.

I have a lot to learn but so far my experience has been excellent, and I expect more of the same the deeper I go. For me it's a WordPress and pain killer, for me for what I do. Pinch me.

It could have been 5 tacos, but issues ate 4 of them

Leaving it here, in case this deal comes up again.
I got the deal back in March 2021, but only got around to using Webstars in November 2021 or so. I didn't check it out thoroughly during the deal being active, lulled by the hiper-positive reviews on AppSumo—my bad. But the more I used it, the more my initial rating (4, even 5 stars) dropped, and at least I can warn you of issues that might be a deal breaker for you.

The good:
- The editor is great (even if not always intuitive), and the ability to adjust the look on the mobile is even better. You can make some truly pretty websites with it. Seriously, you can make some truly pretty, functional websites with it. I love(d) it.
- There are some limitations, but you can usually work around them (no possibility to add your social icons to their limited collection can be circumvented to simply adding their images to your website and adding links to those images).
- Assigning an external domain was easy enough.

The meh:
- They don't tell you that you will have to buy an SSL certificate through them, and there's no way to install an external one.
- In the editor, sometimes the "undo" button doesn't work, so when something goes wrong and gets messed up, the only way might be force-quit the editor to undo the mess.
- No "remember me" at logging in. You have to log in every single time.
- Reporting seems unreliable. The notifications claim X people visited your website and even gives their locations/IP addresses, but when you click "full report", there are no visitors and no data at all.

The horrible:
- No GDPR compliance information of any sort - how it's done, is it on us, etc. There doesn't even seem a way to add "this website is using cookies" pop-up.
- "Blog" looks like an afterthought and is barely functional. It's missing basic control over the size of pictures (available options throw the layouts off or make pictures too big, etc.), no way to make a gallery when there's more pictures, and the text formatting relies on a context menu popping up when you highlight some text... which sometimes doesn't pop up.
- Comments in the blog section are useless: there's no way to reply to your clients' queries or notify them of a new comment, so if they ask a question, they will never know if you replied. Not good for business.
- Customer support. I was hesitant to put it under "horrible", because the first query was answered in about 24 hours which is acceptable. But the second one has been waiting for 9 days (counting from the automatic confirmation they got my email), and no reply yet.

Perhaps this deal is still good for you, for example if you don't have visitors from Europe (or don't care about the consequences not complying with GDPR), your blog is not a place to connect with your customers and serve them, and you don't mind silence from customer support.
If you're going to get it, though, devote time to test it thoroughly, so you don't waste money and time, and end up stuck trying to

Sorry to hear you felt the overall experience was negative. I would like to point out the following.

1. The Appsumo deal includes SSL for your websites. So I'm not sure where the confusion was there. It's true you can't install a third-party SSL on our servers. We prevent that for security reasons.

2. You do remain logged into your account. However if you login a second time in the same browser...

Most Generous & Most Features!

With just 3 hours on the FOMO counter ⏳, I just had to make a review for this amazing product and deal!

This has got to be the MOST Genereous deal in or out of AppSumo! 😃

Plus, it has plenty of other features and services that I have yet to explore!

The drag-and-drop feature is fluid and smooth like 🧈! No lag or stutter like the other "famous" website builders I have tried in the past.

With lots of elements and options, there is freedom for creativity! This makes the process of creating a website EASY and a FUN!

And most importantly, the websites are ⚡ FAST! Good scores on Google PageSpeed Insights! Both for mobile and desktop!

A very minor complaint for me is the conversion from desktop to mobile.

You create the website for desktop, and do (minor) adjustments AGAIN for mobile. Like spacing and image resizing. Unlike other (mobile-first) website makers that does this automatically.

But this can be a good thing because it gives freedom and control over what is displayed on mobile! 👍

Still, I am very happy I got this during Black Friday with 10% off.

A well deserved 🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮!

Thanks, AppSumo and WebStarts! 🍻

Awsome Product!!

Such a lovely product. Everything you need to get going building lovely websites...Fast!!
You can also set up a blog if you choose. If you are a beginner, you should consider this offer instead of wasting a lot of time with wordpress. Wordpress is good, but can be intimidating for someone new. Also, too much configuring and fidgeting. Learn wordpress later. Even if you only buy one code, that is still good value for this deal. I am glad to have found this deal...Thanks!!
