Q: GDPR: Could you please consider including AWS Europe for European customers?
Using AWS servers exclusively in the USA can be problematic under GDPR because:
No Adequacy Decision: US data protection laws (e.g., CLOUD Act, FISA 702) allow government access to data, conflicting with GDPR requirements. Risk of Data Access: US authorities can access data without EU residents' knowledge or legal recourse. Limits of SCCs: Standard Contractual Clauses alone are insufficient without extra safeguards like encryption or pseudonymization. Controller Liability: EU companies remain fully liable for GDPR breaches when using US-based servers. EU Alternatives Exist: Using AWS servers in the EU (e.g., Germany/Ireland) or EU-based providers reduces legal risks. Mitigation: Use EU hosting, encrypt data with EU-managed keys, and conduct a Transfer Impact Assessment (TIA).
Q: Is this possible? Webstart kills Business plan and adds new features to Business+ (no features lost)
Does the AppSumo contract include a feature parity clause or a plan parity clause?
If there is a feature parity clause, is this how you interpret it?
Example: If you add a new feature to your “Business” plan in six months, you are required to give that feature to all AppSumo customers who purchased a lifetime “Pro” license—even if your pricing or included features change later
What is your understanding of this clause? What are "parity" vs " New" features on Webstarts
My view: I believe parity means AppSumo buyers only get the features available at the time of purchase, and not any new features added later. Thats at your discretion. AppSumo has allowed some companies to follow this approach.
It wouls allow you to kill plans as you don't remove feature. Creating Business+ plans that leaves users with an outdated product. Thoughts?
