Disappointing Experience – Not Ready for Professional Workflows
I wanted to like Wisecut, but it doesn't quite meet the needs of a professional workflow.
My biggest hurdle was the 5GB upload limit, which is too restrictive for high-quality client projects. To try and integrate this into my existing process, I attempted to pull files directly using Google Drive links, but the projects consistently failed to process. I eventually had to upload my footage to YouTube first just to get the link to work, which added an unnecessary and time-consuming step to my workflow.
Once I finally got into the editor, the experience was lackluster. There is very little flexibility when it comes to customizing fonts or changing caption styles—which is a major hurdle for professional work—and the long wait times for downloads were frustrating.
I truly wish the team the best, but this is definitely not the tool for me. If you are looking for a much more capable AI cutting tool on AppSumo right now, Reap is the best option I have seen so far if it's still available.

Apr 27, 2026Hi Claxxiq,
Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We take this seriously, and I want to address each point clearly, especially because this does not reflect the experience we aim to deliver with Wisecut.
I want to start with the download/rendering point because we reviewed the export activity related to this issue, and it looks like the export did not complete normally at first. That is not the expected Wisecut experience. Wisecut is built to be one of the fastest tools in the industry, so when an export behaves unexpectedly, our support team can usually investigate and help resolve it quickly. In this case, we were able to reprocess the export successfully on our side. If you still have access to the project, you may be able to see the completed export in your account. I do wish we had the chance to review this through support before the refund/review, because our team likely would have caught the export issue and helped resolve it quickly.
Regarding the 5GB upload limit, you’re right that this can be restrictive for very large professional client files. The current AppSumo deal does have a 5GB upload limit, and we try to make that clear upfront. That said, we hear this feedback, and increasing the upload limit is already on our roadmap so we can better support larger professional files soon.
For Google Drive links, they should generally work when the file is publicly accessible and in a supported format. In some cases, file size, permissions, formatting, or access restrictions can cause issues. If you’re open to it, please email us at [email protected] with the email connected to your Wisecut account and one of the links that failed, and our team can investigate exactly what happened.
Regarding caption styles and font customization, Wisecut already supports animated captions, and we agree that deeper customization around fonts, sizing, positioning, and styling is important, especially for more professional workflows. This is already on our public product roadmap, and we are actively moving it forward.
Wisecut is designed to help creators, marketers, educators, podcasters, and teams quickly turn long-form videos into social-ready clips with AI, captions, music, reframing, and automation tools. For heavier post-production workflows with very large files and deeper manual styling requirements, it may not be the perfect fit for every use case today, but the exact areas you mentioned are already areas we are improving.
If you’re willing to give it another look, please contact us at [email protected]. We’d be happy to review your specific project, explain what happened with the export, and help you get the best possible result.
Thanks again for the honest feedback. We are taking it seriously.
