Not really fleshed out

So i bought it yesterday and was giving it a shot. The onboarding is bad. There is no real explanation or guide of the whole process so you have to try out yourself how things work it is not really intuitive.

I wanted to quickly edit a video but then just gave up after cut it myself after many hurdles i could not overcome.

For example:

You can only cut sentences, but i couldn´t find a way to cut out a single word.
Your edits are not real time, so if you want to look how your edit looks you have to re-render the whole thing
It is not correct - i was hearing me talking but didn´t see the text so i could´t cut that part because it wasen´t there.
The whole editing process is cumbersome - i also bought pictory for comparison and here you just edit like in a word dokument - just mark what you don´t want and cut it.
The translation is not consistent - some words are english some are some other language

Maybe i´m doing it all wrong but that is also a proof for being not intuitive- like i sayed i had no problem with pictory that offers a similiar thing. But unfortunatly not the automatic Cut&Zoom.

All in all it feels like a beta product - and im more and more getting suspicious of all the 5 stars reviews on appsumo in general- because it is not the first time that my experience is like that.

Hi maximilian.puetz,

Thank you for the thorough review and feedback. I'm sorry to hear that your experience with Wisecut wasn't good. We work hard to give all of our customers a great experience, and we're sorry that this didn't happen for you.

Responding inline to your feedback:

1) The onboarding is bad. There is no real explanation or guide of the whole process so you have to try out yourself how things work it is not really intuitive.

You should have received a Welcome email with tips and links to our tutorial and walkthrough video. Please let me know if you didn't. You can find a walkthrough in the link below. We are working on an updated version.

If you need more help, you can check our knowledge base in the link below or reach out via chat or support@wisecut.video.

2) You can only cut sentences, but i couldn't find a way to cut out a single word.

Yes, as for now, you can only cut by lines, but word-by-word editing is in our roadmap and should be one of the next features we will prioritize.

3) Your edits are not real time, so if you want to look how your edit looks you have to re-render the whole thing

Rendering is part of video editing. It's where technology is right now, but we have made many improvements to reduce the number of renders, and we will keep improving.

Just to confirm, as for now, here are the changes you can see in real-time:

- Scene reordering
- Scene trimming
- Deleted scenes
- Recovered scenes
- Split scenes
- Subtitles text (as for now, you have to go to Preview to see this one in real-time, but it's in our roadmap to bring it to the Storyboard tab)

And here are the changes that you can't see in real-time before rendering:

- New footage added to the Storyboard
- Audio Features (Music, Enhancers, Voice Booster)
- Auto Punch In/Out

Also, please note that the Storyboard tab is where you watch and edit the content in real-time. The Preview & Export tab is where you watch the video with all the AI features applied, including music. In the latter, you might need to render if you made significant changes.

4) The translation is not consistent - some words are english some are some other language

Our translations work well in most languages. Maybe something happened in the process for your language. We'd love to check it out to see what happned. Please reach out to support@wisecut.video so we can assist you.

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

As always, feel free to reach out at any time.
