My name is Cathy and I am a tool hoarder. I purchase Wishpond during the first round in which AppSumo offered. I had watched Wishpond for years, but it was outside the realm of budget along with other monthly tools. I was excited to use it since it is easy to create landing pages (and I don’t like to watch videos or read directions). I believe online tools should be naturally intuitive, but offer the ability to view “how to” if needed. Most importantly, I love that Wishpond provides a notification each time someone provides a lead and also provides views and conversion rate. 🙌🏾
Everything is about the data and conversions. I was thankful that Wishpond offered previous Wishpond holders the opportunity to upgrade which is rare. I recommended Wishpond to two business friends this last offering and one raved about the exceptional customer service when she got stuck.
Lastly, I have high conversion rates using Wishpond and it has allowed me to add to my credibility with conversion rates of as high as 51%.
On first blush Wishpond looks like an amazing platform.
It simplifies the whole lead generation to CRM-based automated follow-up. We really like the way in which everything starts with the idea of a Campaign (from a form, to a contest), to make it easy to keep you focused on CTAs and conversions.
Sadly there are several things that are a challenge....
WISHPOND SUPPORT The first is the actual lack of troubleshooting Help Content provided by Wishpond.
From broken links and outdated tutorials (containing old screen grabs), the help information for this platform is really lacking.
The live chat on the website is mostly unattended for my time-zone (GMT+10) and ticket responsiveness is also slow.
In fact my active ticket seemed to just get forgotten after one half-hearted attempt to resolve my problem. Perhaps it was closed off on their end without me knowing or getting a resolution... who knows?!
DEVELOPER DOCS The next problem is a lack of assistance for developers.
There is a lightweight Marketing API document and some slightly better Pages JavaScript SDK docs.
While you could get by with these resources; without any sign of publication dates or version controls it's difficult to know just how current these documents really are.
FORM BUILDER My biggest frustration with Wishpond has been the Form Builder which creates encapsulated embed code.
Even the smallest change to an existing template creates ugly forms in Preview (when using Google Chrome).
Our attempts to embed into a WordPress web page, created even more disappointment with unexplainable layout problems with containers and flow.
None of these issues is particularly difficult to overcome (IMHO); to provide a much improved user experience and strong developer community.
If only Wishpond would tell people what they are doing and when they are doing it. That way we could at least feel like good change is happening and fixes are coming soon.
Since this is ending tomorrow, I figured I'll add some positives thus far.
I've contacted support several times and they either responded on live chat within five minutes or got back to me within a few hours via email. You may have to wait if you write them during the weekend though. I've been in touch with several different reps, so they do appear to have staffed up. They worked to resolve my current needs and either knew what I was asking for or were responsive to clarifications of my questions.
I think this may be important to know for anyone considering this deal before it ends since past criticisms were that support was lacking. It has been satisfying on my end thus far.
I was considering this or the Sendinblue LTD and I chose Wishpond because they do seem to be supporting it, have much higher limits and their platform seems to work well from my research. Yes, SIB has more a few more features, but Wishpond does have solid funnel mapping automations to collect leads and send out newsletters and drip campaigns.
The one CNAME restriction is not a problem for me as I want it for one business, but you can embed their lead forms anywhere regardless of domain so you're not really limited in terms of reach.
Their email runs on Sendgrid. They were transparent about it when I asked them which I appreciate. Not everyone loves Sendgrid, but it is a major player and I believe deliverability will be fine if you observe good mail ettiquette.
One of the other reasons I chose Wishpond is they are natively integrated into Pipedrive which I decided is a robust combination. Yes, I did buy Flowlu and could eventually use it as my primary CRM, but I don't mind paying Pipedrive if I'm closing deals. IOW, the combo of Wishpond + Pipedrive is a powerful set of tools requiring little in the way of additional integrations. I get a new lead through Wishpond and will automatically receive it in Pipedrive.
Also, when asking them about running my business email on Pipedrive for client communications and my Wishpond broadcasts on the same email they confirmed they will set up my emails with SPIF to authenticate me as the sender.
They do have a Pabbly integration BTW even though it is not advertised and they do have webhooks and an API so you can use all of the other integrators or make your connections between apps.
Wishpond has not been embraced by the software geeks in the Sumo community perhaps, but I think the 3 stack deal is more than enough to build a business with. If you want something that works and is straightforward to use, I'd consider it before this deal is gone.
Hi, I don't have coding experience and have been testing page builders, and this one is the fastest and easiest way, like you're just making Google doc, plus with the ability to add html embeds (widgets/views from other websites), plus ability to embed your Wishpond work on other websites.
Not impressed, but working towards it- UPDATED REVIEW
When Mailchimp started to cost, I found an bought this LTD in early 2020 and thought it was just awesome. For my purposes, I had tested Kartra, GetResponse and Builderall (which all are, when all is said and done, too expensive). As sole entrepreneur with a limited 1k of dedicated subscribers Wishpond (which I had never heard of before Appsumo) seemed to be the fulfillment of all my wishes. After playing around with it for more a year I have to say this: 1) Customer support is depending on agend: For the first 7 queries from my side (per e-mail), I did only get 1 prompt and good solution. In the last 1/2 year customer support has markedly improved. Most of what I was asking and wanted (e.g. being able to have people unsubscribe from 1 list instead of only giving them the chance of unsubscribing to everything you offer) was simply not possible. 2) The template builder has been alright. Took me a day to rebuild one of Optimize Press templates for a landing page (pdf). Took me some time to understanding the system, but it can be done. 3) The plugins (landing page and pop up) didn´t accept the Token I had copied from my dashboard. Also not the newly requested one. No answer on that. I also don´t understand the relationship of dashboard and plugin yet - can I create something in the dashboard and then simply activate on Wordpress? If so, that would be awesome, but for now, it´s not working. Since that was part of the promise a year ago, nothing has been coming forward on that front. No much development on the software on any other side either, at least that I recognized and found useful. 4) The whole experience seems half-baked to me, e.g. I do have much contact to my customers by phone. If we want to find out if they are subsribe, I can´t search through my leads (contact) by first or last name, or even part of the email?! This is unacceptable and causing me much headache. You want to know how many people from one company (TLD) have subsribed? No chance to search for @company.com or anything like that. Dismal! 5) I really would like to say I enjoy certain aspects of the software, and I do: my newsletter looks nice (I think). But to be honest, there is not a time I don´t consider leaving it and finding something I truly enjoy working with - something that wouldn´t automatically unsubscribe bounced emails which then you do have to export, delete and reimport to be able to subcribe again. As it is, I can´t recommend it. I don´t even know if I would buy it again.
