Q: appsumo deal vs website
Finding Wonders AI really intriged me, sounds like a very nice tool to use.
Comparing the offer here and on your own website, it seemed that the tiers here (all but the highest one) have limitations (e.g. limited amount of AI searches/month) whereas the pricing on your own website features UNlimited. Can you explain how this works out in practice and why the Appsumo is still the better deal? Further I've done some limited experiments with Wonders AI and it keeps giving 'failed to save your data' errors a number of times. Could you also benchmark your features and pricing against Afforai and others in this (academic) search software space, thank you.
In a few test runs, it seems to do what it promises, suggest topics and search databases and help with getting an overview of the potentially relevant articles fast, good work!

May 27, 2025A: Hi there, glad you're finding Wonders interesting.
In practice, a casual research will average about 100 searches. More intense research will take monthly around 500. Postdocs, professional researchers, R&D folks, and similar might need more than that. With our plus Plan costing $192 per year, you can see how the LTD works out better for most people. If your needs are more intermittent or require larger volume of searches at a time, a subscription might just be better, with less upfront commitment.
I'm sorry that you've experienced an error with saving data—if you could message me on support@readwonders.com we'd be happy to look into it. Our platform is currently undergoing large-scale changes, and some things may be a bit misbehaving at times.
I've answered the differences between us and other tools previously in the Q&A—if you quickly search for them, it should give you a good idea. It's also worth visiting our roadmap.readwonders.com for more details on upcoming features.
I'm happy the workflow is working for you! Let me know if you have any suggestions and how it fits into the rest of your process.
