Q: Does the 8 GB backup break the 3GB site limit?

Hey, I've cloned my website from B.com to A.com using my hosting customer control panel. It seems the old databases weren't nuked, because my backups are 8GB instead of <1 GB (as they were on B).

Would WP Reset be able to help me clean this up? Would I be able to operate within the 3GB site limit?

Thank you :)

A: Hi,
Unfortunately, WP Reset is not a database cleanup tool, so it won't solve your problem. It may help reset/delete some parts of the site, but it is definitely not a solution to your entire problem.

When would it help? If you already had WP Reset installed on your original site before migration, you could have created a snapshot to make sure everything is ok when you did changes. So in case something was off on the original sites, you could easily roll back to start over. So to avoid problems in the future, it's recommended to have WP Reset prior to making any changes.

But unfortunately, WP Reset is not a migration or clean-up tool.

This was previously answered by Ivan_WebFactoryLTD who said it’s not possible to run WP Reset on an external database; however, you can control how and when snapshots are created, permanently delete unneeded snapshots, or upload them to the Cloud to reduce stress on your DB — contact their support via email if you need help setting up the plugin.
