WP Security Ninja Reviews

I installed this on a website which was already infected, lot of core files have been modified and some files which aren't meant to be there and a quick glance shows that clearly. Some of the other functions are handy and work well like the Security Advisor etc, and thus I took away only two tacos. Have sent a support email, if I get an adquete response and fix then will change feedback, but I installed wordfence and it instantly caught these issues. Quite worried about my investment.

Edit: I have revised my rating because after reaching out to support and sharing copies of the suspicious files, the explanations were adequate from the team why some of them were missed, and for the rest they have or are releasing an update to improve their scanners. Also turns out wordfence did not catch the culprits after I restored a backup with the malware present to test.

I'm very happy with this plugin. It provides the essential security features that every WordPress website needs. The plugin is lightweight, doesn't put extra load on the hosting server, and doesn't slow down the website. Highly recommended!

I installed WP Security Ninja on my own WordPress website, ran a scan, and fixed several real issues in under an hour.

What stood out:
• Quickly surfaces common security gaps (XML-RPC, file permissions, file editor access)
• Several fixes are genuinely one click and worth doing
• Each issue includes helpful explanation text so you understand what you’re changing

The biggest benefit is speed. You can go from “not sure what’s exposed” to making meaningful improvements in a single session.

A couple of things to be aware of:
• Not every “failed” check should be fixed. Some require judgment, especially on a live site.
• The Security Advisor AI looks promising, but it depends on WordPress 7, which isn’t available yet.

Bottom line:
This works best as a practical security audit and hardening layer. It helps you clean up real issues quickly, but it’s part of a broader security setup, not the entire solution.
If you manage your own WordPress site and want a fast way to improve your baseline security without digging through configs, this is a solid tool.

It is my go for security plugin on my WordPress websites, while it has most of security features I'm looking for. It adds another layer of protection for my WordPress websites which is excellent value.

I've been a web host and sysadmin for 15 years. I'm skeptical when it comes to security tools, and many of them out there are either bogged down bloatware, don't do enough, or try to do too much (WP Security Ninja does veer slightly into that last category, but if you're going to do it well, I won't stop you).

Do I trust any plugin to be my entire WP security stack? No. Nobody should. That's like locking your door but leaving every window open.

Do I trust WP Security Ninja to be a crucial part of that security stack on an application level? I do, and many of my clients are better for it.

It does what other login security products promised they would, but it does it better.
It does what other application-level WAFs said they would do, and it does it cleanly.
It does what other scanners say they'll do, and does it quickly.
It does not guarantee you'll have no holes in your security, because Lars and his team know better.
It does as complete a job as a WordPress plugin can reasonably be expected to do.

Y'all do need to tune down the level of followup emails after every... single... installation... but I love you all the same. <3
