I have been using WritingMate since Apr 17, 2026, and overall my experience is mixed.

The best thing about this tool is its simple and clean interface. It feels very similar to ChatGPT, so it is easy to use even for beginners. Another strong point is that it supports multiple AI models in one place, which is very convenient.

One feature I really like is the Projects option. You can set a master prompt in the project settings and keep similar tasks under one project. This helps maintain consistency and saves time. It feels similar to how projects work in Claude. Also, having chat, image, and video tools in one platform is a big time saver.

However, the tool is not very stable yet. Sometimes, during a chat, it suddenly shows a “something went wrong” error and stops working. When I refresh the page, the entire previous conversation is lost. This is the biggest drawback for me.

I also faced confusion with API usage. I had added my OpenRouter API, but there was no balance in that account. Even though I still had credits in WritingMate, I could not use the tool. After removing the API, it started working again. This is confusing. It would be better if the tool used its own credits first and only used the API as a backup.

Another issue is that some menu clicks redirect to the upgrade page, which feels unnecessary and should be improved.

The image generation tool also needs improvement. Even when selecting landscape mode, it sometimes creates square images. Also, there is no proper 16:9 option, and custom image size is not available. Adding custom size control would be very helpful.

In dark mode, the messages I send appear with a white background. This does not match the dark theme. It would be better to use a darker shade for user messages.

I have not used the agent and video features yet, but the agent feature looks promising and useful.

In my opinion, if this tool continues to improve and the team supports lifetime users properly, it can be a very good investment. I purchased Tier 2, and it is enough for entry-level needs.

However, the daily limits should be increased. The Ultimate messages are only 5, which is the same as Tier 1. It should be at least 10, because 5 messages are not enough to solve a problem in one session. The Pro messages should also be increased to around 50. Currently, the limit is 34, which feels low. Many users do not work daily. Instead, they complete most of their writing in one or two days per week. With the current limits, it is hard to finish longer conversations.

Overall, the tool has good potential, but it still needs improvements in stability, usability, and limits.
