Hi Writingmate team,

I purchased Writingmate through AppSumo and I'm trying to use the image generation API (POST /images/generations) via the OpenAI-compatible endpoint, but it's currently returning a 500 error:

"Failed to upload image: new row violates row-level security policy"

After checking your documentation, I found that image and video generation endpoints are listed as "temporarily unavailable while usage tracking is validated."

My questions:
1. When will POST /images/generations be available again?
2. Is there an ETA or workaround for AppSumo users?
3. Will this be included in the API access for all plans?

I'm trying to integrate image generation (gpt-5-image / flux-2-pro) into an external tool using your Developer Key. Everything works fine for chat/completions, but image generation is completely blocked.

Please keep us updated on when this will be re-enabled.

20 mins of trying to get logged in but it keeps me in basic. I've had enough of this . No tech suooport, sent email and nothing. fix your app. Love the cost of videos only being secs, baisc on time and not quality. But i am constantly booted out of my level 4 tier and to basic. I have to keep logging in through Appsumo several times. Does not work as well as chatgpt. Switching from chat to images to work on projects kicks me out of my 500 dollar paid account to basic. constantly disconnect from my paid account and moved to basic where i can't upload my pictures for edits. For generating images and video for my content it's worth the price hopefully the team can sort out the bugs to make it a steady workflow. I also don't like the censoring of my content many times it says that it is against regulations or censored for no reason not showing anything graphic. I like to have the freedom as an artist to show anything whether it is blood gore or the body I don't like having my creativity stifled. Mootion AI allows me to be uncensored for this and partly Grok, but they do not come close to the better deal of the cost of videos that the writing mate does. Have all the programs I have done it is the more cost friendly in creation.

I have been using WritingMate since Apr 17, 2026, and overall my experience is mixed.

The best thing about this tool is its simple and clean interface. It feels very similar to ChatGPT, so it is easy to use even for beginners. Another strong point is that it supports multiple AI models in one place, which is very convenient.

One feature I really like is the Projects option. You can set a master prompt in the project settings and keep similar tasks under one project. This helps maintain consistency and saves time. It feels similar to how projects work in Claude. Also, having chat, image, and video tools in one platform is a big time saver.

However, the tool is not very stable yet. Sometimes, during a chat, it suddenly shows a “something went wrong” error and stops working. When I refresh the page, the entire previous conversation is lost. This is the biggest drawback for me.

I also faced confusion with API usage. I had added my OpenRouter API, but there was no balance in that account. Even though I still had credits in WritingMate, I could not use the tool. After removing the API, it started working again. This is confusing. It would be better if the tool used its own credits first and only used the API as a backup.

Another issue is that some menu clicks redirect to the upgrade page, which feels unnecessary and should be improved.

The image generation tool also needs improvement. Even when selecting landscape mode, it sometimes creates square images. Also, there is no proper 16:9 option, and custom image size is not available. Adding custom size control would be very helpful.

In dark mode, the messages I send appear with a white background. This does not match the dark theme. It would be better to use a darker shade for user messages.

I have not used the agent and video features yet, but the agent feature looks promising and useful.

In my opinion, if this tool continues to improve and the team supports lifetime users properly, it can be a very good investment. I purchased Tier 2, and it is enough for entry-level needs.

However, the daily limits should be increased. The Ultimate messages are only 5, which is the same as Tier 1. It should be at least 10, because 5 messages are not enough to solve a problem in one session. The Pro messages should also be increased to around 50. Currently, the limit is 34, which feels low. Many users do not work daily. Instead, they complete most of their writing in one or two days per week. With the current limits, it is hard to finish longer conversations.

Overall, the tool has good potential, but it still needs improvements in stability, usability, and limits.

I mainly use Writingmate for content creation. I’m very satisfied with my experience so far. I also work with Abacus, and WM is just as good an aggregator as Abacus—at a price that’s unbeatable. Thank you so much for offering this indispensable tool for internet marketing.

This is my 3rd day using Writingmate. This tool has great potential. Yesterday, I had the first problem when the chat said, "Something went wrong - An error occurred." The problem was fixed in 1-2 hours, but I lost all my work from 4-5 prompts. The chat responses disappeared, and I can't get them back, so I have to do them again.

Tested the open code configuration; the responses were delayed as I waited a few minutes for a complete output. After only two prompts, I used up my daily limit of 34 messages (with Tier 2), so the open code option wasn't a good choice. I plan to use the chat mode in the future and hope to have a stable experience. If this tool remains functional for 2-3 years, that will be a win for me.

It's a useful tool that is working for me. I just hope I don't have to deal with disappearing output after a chat error. I looked at Claude's status yesterday, and everything was running smoothly.
