I’ve used Youbooks to write 4 books. It definitely provides a lot of information and speeds up the research side of the process.

But the execution has been frustrating. It references chapters that aren’t there, and the formatting is awful. Even with the draft it produces, I still have to go through the entire thing and rewrite it. So for me, it’s become more of a research tool than a “write books fast” solution, which is disappointing given the promise of a smoother book-generation workflow.

That said, it does save me time on searching for information on a topic myself.

If you’re buying this expecting a near publish-ready manuscript, you may be let down. If you want a jumpstart on research and a rough framework you’re willing to heavily clean up, it can still be useful.

3.5 Tacos for the first draft, but editing needs improvement.

I rated it 4 stars because Appsumo doesn't offer a 3.5-star option.

Writing this review cause the Creator of this app sent an effortlessly funny message about tacos and someone that’s not being cheesy and begging for validation but honest opinion, then they deserve a genuine review..

This app does what it says and if you get at least 2nd tier.. you can literally write some of the most wonderful researched based articles and in ebooks, as long as you know what you’re doing and giving Ai the necessary knowledge & idea as to what you want.. then let the magic happen.

I am deeply interested in YouBooks and have purchased a Tier 2 deal.

I have dedicated significant effort to training a personal model, utilizing nearly a full month’s worth of credits for custom voice sources, and providing ample source materials, also equating to nearly a month’s worth of credits. Despite this extensive preparation, the final result is yet far from ready for use. Both the completed book and the author's source material are in a well-known Western romance language, though not in English.

Here are some of the issues I have encountered:

a) Formatting Issues:
Some chapter titles have inconsistent formatting, with some using numbers while others do not. Additionally, entire text blocks spanning multiple pages are in bold, and different text sections vary in size.

b) English Intrusions:
Approximately 10-20% of the book is written in English, despite the original language being different.

c) Table of Contents Issues:
The Table of Contents has not been fully adhered to, and the book ENDS abruptly at page 87, even though it was intended to be around 90,000 words, or approximately 200 pages.

d) Weak Arguments:
The book attempts to blend psychology and philosophy, a complex topic, but despite the abundance of source material provided, the content lacks depth. However, this is currently the least of the concerns.

Additionally, the book presents an error message at the beginning: “This page contains the following errors: error on line 548 at column 75: Opening and ending tag mismatch: rewritten line 548 and p. Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.”

The founder appears to be a honest and admirable person. I would prefer not to request a refund and continue using YouBooks, but I'd need assistance with the issues I've encountered and need them to be resolved.

I am still refining my internal process to achieve the exact tone and structure we want at scale, but even at this stage, the platform is already proving its value. The system is powerful, stable, and clearly built for serious long-form professional publishing.

Most importantly, just like with all solid AppSumo lifetime deals, I sincerely hope the developers continue to remain builder-minded, responsive, and committed to long-term growth. I am genuinely happy to be an early adopter of this platform.

This tool is already changing how we build books for clients. I will definitely update this review again in the coming months as we scale further.

Highly recommended for serious creators, publishers, and agencies.
