Zcal - pretty good but...
I am a current user of Cal.com which is free and has more features than zcal-pro does. I purchased zcal hoping for more robust features. I tried Tidycal but they don't have ability to have multiple booking pages. The new "Teams" feature in zcal is a decent enough feature to create alternate booking pages for different clients (which Tidycal doesn't have but Cal.com does - sort of...you have to "embed" links into a page. I use Notch.so as a sort of landing portal for my clients and just embed the booking link. It works pretty well.). Lots of other companies don't give you the ability to create more than one booking page. This is strong plus for zcal (but....see below). The zoom, msteams, and outlook work flawlessly for me. I know some others reported difficulty.
Reason for only 3 stars (and a possible refund). I have tested it out, end to end.
1. CNAME is a must and here's why: The calendar invite shows up as from 'zcal <notifications@zcal.co>'. The company talks about branding as being a priority and this clearly is their brand versus my brand. I am willing to hold out for CNAME that is reportedly in the works but it looks like they are going to charge for it in a higher tier and have been non-committal about honoring the current Appsumo offering and buyers.
2. They got rid of the cover photo that really made it look branded to me and replaced it with only a 15sec video spot or "story image". To me this makes zero sense to me as the examples they had of the previous format look really great from a branding perspective.
3. The "story image" requires a very small image so my logo(s) don't fit in them and therefore the feature is pretty much useless to me.
4. No way to customize the default/stock emails or create workflows. There is not much control over what it sends without having to re-create an entirely new custom email. All free in Cal.com.
5. While the "Teams" feature is good for a work around for multiple booking pages, it does not allow for a "group" booking feature. Collective booking (as in all on your team) but not for external people.
Cal.com is more feature rich but doesn't have CNAME. I bought zcal on the hopes that it would be added to the tiers. I am a soloprenuer so higher tiers give me more people to include (which I don't need at all) and 'maybe' CNAME. This is unfortunate. I have no need for the ability for more users but do for CNAME.
I am on the fence right now as to refund. The "Teams" booking page is a nice feature that I can use in lieu of a more formal multiple booking pages. The MSTeams/Outlook/Zoom work flawlessly. I don't like the fact that the "branding" is pretty limited. The removal of the banner they had previously to now the "story image" is not good and limiting as to what you can include in it. I asked support about this and then sent them photos of how unusable it was for me and my logos and heard nothing back.
So for me, the strong reason to keep it is the "Teams" feature that allows for multiple booking pages that you can customize for availability and certain customers (it works for this purpose just fine and not limited to internal teams). But this is dimished, heavily, for me personally because I can't use "group" bookings for external people. The ability to have zoom and MSTeam is perfect AND you can also have both options available for the booker to choose, which is nice.
Branding is not as strong as I would hope for. I will play around with a bit more and will decide if it grows on me. Without strong customization of branding, CNAME there is a high likelihood of getting a refund, use Cal.com, and wait for the next calendar Appsumo Offer.
The polling feature is nice but not as nice as doodle's interface. Cal.com doesn't have a polling feature.

Great tool, well made, but I remain loyal to TidyCal.
I've tried to replicate my current setup on TidyCal, which is doing its job more than adequately. Here’s my feedback.
Pros:
+ The user experience and interface are smooth and well-designed, similar to TidyCal (which I prefer for its greater simplicity and immediacy);
+ You can add photos or videos alongside the calendar, which is very useful for a landing page that doesn't have other equally effective hooks (highly appreciated);
+ You can configure multiple online meeting platforms, useful for giving more choice to potential clients;
+ You can customize the colors to match your brand.
Cons:
- The description of each service is limited to 500 characters, which is useless and absurd if you want to properly describe a service, especially when it needs to stand out by listing its features;
- Some translations in Italian are inconsistent and should be corrected by a human professional.
In conclusion, it's an excellent product that requires minimal improvements to be truly among the best in the sector, especially for micro teams.
Rated very highly, but I’ve decided to stick with TidyCal since they are currently very similar for my specific use. However, I'll keep it as a backup tool and follow its developments over time.
For the zCal team: I'm available to suggest corrections to the Italian translation. 😉

ZCAL an Alternative to Doodle
I was searching for a lifetime deal alternative to Doodle.com and came across this product. So far, my experience has been good, though I haven’t used it for a real meeting yet. However, I believe it meets the purpose for which I invested in.
**@Developers:** Thank you for creating this product! I’d love to see more **Meeting Poll** options added to make it a strong competitor to Doodle in the market. Keep up the great work!

Refunding with deep regrey
This was one of my most anticipated purchases but sadly, very poorly thought through.
In my specific use case, I want to use it with clients and their third party service providers.
If it was only the fact that there is automation lacking for sending email meeting date and time polling functionality, I could almost live with it in anticipation of the team actually delivering on their promised roadmap of webhooks (a risk nonetheless) but to now discover that I have to persuade all of the third party organisations to sign up to Zcal in order to poll them for a meeting date and time is utterly ridiculous!
The workload involved is easier to just ring around and organise a meeting or go back centuries to use smoke signals…
Not to mention that any modern day organisation with any kind of quality certification has to evaluate software that their staff sign up to for security, privacy, continuity, etc. makes this software totally unusable for its purpose in practical day to day life.
Rather than fixing and improving administration, it’s creating reams and reams more in over complication of a simple task.
This is a definite refund.

Jan 31, 2025I'm sorry you're having difficulty understanding how zcal works. If you actually tested the product end to end as an invitee you would see that no sign up is required. In the app we clearly state the fact that there is no sign up requirement to book times or to vote on polls.
