Great Product With Some Opportunities
Hello there. I've been a very satisfied Calendly customer for years. I love their user interface, their user experience, and lots of simple details like their font and color selections for their UI. But our team is growing and we need a more cost-effective solution.
Zoom.AI seemed to be a real alternative to all the great features we've been used to have in Calendly.
What I like so far about Zoom.AI is that they seem to be very open to feedback from their users.
I do have however some warnings for users switching from Calendly (I've already expressed in the Questions section a couple of these concerns I had great responses from the Zoom.AI team).
These are the missing key features that I believe you have to consider if you are moving from Calendly (I know Zoom.AI has lots of features that Calendly does not, like AI, but for me, my main need is to match Calendly's current features):
- The most simple thing: Zoom.AI does not have an option to add a description to the Meeting Type. Why? I have no idea. In Calendly every Meeting Type has a description field that then appears on the scheduling page, so you can really explain what this Meeting is all about. This is a great place to explain what will happen in the meeting, if you need to bring something, if you need to have an open contract with you, etc.
- In Calendly you can select the Meeting Type language. It is not done by the browser configuration of the final user (which in Latinamerica is crazy). This is KEY to fix. Joel says it's in the works so we can only wait to see how it will be implemented.
- Availability Windows. Right now is super-basic. Calendly allows you to select multiple windows for multiple weekdays in a single Meeting Type. Like "I can Coach you Friday night, Wednesday noon, and Tuesday very early or very late at night". Joel says it's in the works, so again we'll need to wait and see how the implementation turns out to be.
- Calendly allows you to provide the user a selection of Video Conferencing options so the final user can actually select among Zoom, Teams, and whatever other options you can integrate. This is great because for example in my country some companies have banned Zoom due to security concerns, so it's great that the user can actually select what works best for them. Zoom.AI does not have this feature.
- Max events per day is a must. Some Event Types I can only do 1 per day because it leaves me exhausted (like assessment debriefings). Zoom.Ai also says this to be in the works.
In short: Value 10/10, UX Design 7/10 (Calendly is much more refined), Calendly Features-That-I-Need Match: 7/10 (but Zoom.AI has many other features like AI and also is working on many of the missing features).
Thank you AppSumo for this deal. And to the Zoom.AI team, I wish you the best after the LTDs, you have a great product. Keep listening and innovating (and beating Calendly feature by feature!).

May 9, 2024Hello there,
Thanks for your review and feedback - we appreciate it! We're glad you see the value in the platform, to respond to your feedback:
1) "The most simple thing: Zoom.AI does not have an option to add a description to the Meeting Type. Why? I have no idea. You do have the option to add meeting instructions to your meeting types that allow you to explain the nature of the meeting to your invitees! For more information on this please refer to our FAQ:

2) "In Calendly you can select the Meeting Type language. It is not done by the browser configuration of the final user (which in Latinamerica is crazy). This is KEY to fix. Joel says it's in the works so we can only wait to see how it will be implemented."
As you stated, the Product team has already taken this on as a future feature! Currently, there is no ETA for the release but be sure to look out for product updates in the form of pinned messages on our deal page!

We allow you to integrate multiple video conferencing tools so that you can give your invitee options when meeting with you! You can create multiple meeting types with different attached video providers and then group those together in a meeting directory to give your attendees options of which meeting type to attend.
