Great Cart Software - With a Couple of Caveats

Zylvie is a game-changer for digital creators seeking a customizable, user-friendly, and swift cart solution. Setting up my store was a breeze, thanks to its intuitive interface. The platform’s seamless integrations with tools like Stripe and ConvertKit have streamlined my workflow, and their support team has been consistently positive and helpful.

However, I’ve encountered a peculiar behavior with Stripe, my primary payment gateway. When users proceed to the checkout page, Zylvie creates an ‘incomplete’ transaction in Stripe before any payment is processed. This anomaly has led to confusion among my clients, cluttering the Stripe transaction console and raising concerns about unintended charges. While these ‘incomplete’ transactions can be filtered out, they still pose an inconvenience. In one instance, I had to generate manual payment links to mitigate the confusion.

Despite this hiccup, I remain optimistic about Zylvie’s potential. The cart software industry is challenging, and I’ve previously invested in platforms that were later abandoned by developers. Zylvie’s commitment to continuous improvement gives me hope that this issue will be addressed promptly.

GO ZYLVIE!

Hi Ross,

Thank you for your kind words of support, we do try to make onboarding and setup as easy and intuitive as possible. Glad you found it a breeze.

Re: incomplete transactions, yes, we brought this up with Stripe directly before.

They said they're inevitable if we use server-side payment intents (which are more reliable than client-side, especially for embeddable carts, which are very popular among our users).

They don't really do anything, they don't affect anything, they simply represent transactions that weren't fully checked out (i.e. buyers add stuff to their cart but don't check out for one reason or another).

However, I do understand that some customers are OCD about it and don't want to see them in their dashboard.

We'll see if there's anything we can do (e.g. programmatically removing those incomplete transactions after a certain amount of time) to keep the dashboard clean and tidy.

Thank you for being so forthcoming about your feedback!

With thanks,
Jay
