$29 once? What's the catch?
One-time means one-time
Pay once. There's no monthly bill and nothing to cancel, and updates are included.
300,000 emails, total
Your sends don't refill each month. Emailing 5,000 people monthly, they last 5 years. When they run out, add SendFox Pro from $19 a month to keep sending. Your list stays put.
Built and run by AppSumo
AppSumo makes SendFox and answers your support emails, so there's no third party to chase.

3 things to know
- A small SendFox footer stays on your emails. Removing it takes SendFox Pro.
- New signups confirm their email first (double opt-in) till you verify your sending domain. Then you can switch Lifetime to single opt-in.
- There's no Shopify app. Connect a store through Zapier or the API.

For a newsletter, SendFox does the job for $29 once. Mailchimp Standard, the plan with those extras, costs $1,200 a year at 5,000 contacts.
The product itself is a decent, basic email platform- no bells and whistles
Fair. The question is whether bells and whistles are worth $1,200 a year to you.

I've struggled with MailChimp for years trying to justify their subscription-based pricing for what I'm getting, and I wish I had switched way earlier.

Already on Mailchimp? Move your list in 6 steps
SendFox pulls your subscribed contacts straight from Mailchimp, and your Mailchimp account stays as it is while you switch.
Get SendFox
Buy it on AppSumo, then sign in at sendfox.com.
Import from Mailchimp
Create a list under Contacts and pick "Import contacts from MailChimp." Only people still subscribed come over, with their names.
Bring your tags
The direct import skips tags. Export one file per tag from Mailchimp, then tag each file as you upload it.
Rebuild your welcome emails
Copy each automated email across and set it up again. For most lists, that's one welcome series.
Connect your domain
So your emails come from you, not from SendFox. SendFox shows you how.
Send, then cancel Mailchimp
Send yourself a test, then send to your list. If your opens drop in the first month, you still have 60 days to get your money back. Cancel Mailchimp before it bills you again.
What comes over
- Your subscribed contacts
- Their first and last names
- Your tags, one file per tag
What you redo
- Your automated emails: copy and paste each one
Migration was reasonably painless, though transferring my automation was a manual "cut and paste" process and took some time

How we checked
AppSumo makes SendFox, so we're not neutral. Every number on this page comes from the sources listed here. Updated Nov. 3, 2026.
- Prices: Mailchimp prices come from mailchimp.com/pricing at each list size, billed month to month. Its plan features come from its compare plans page and help center. SendFox limits come from sendfox.com/pricing, the AppSumo product page and help.sendfox.com.
- Reviews: counts cover all 341 SendFox reviews on AppSumo, and a reviewer can name Mailchimp without having switched. Quotes are copied word for word.
- Left out of the tool: Mailchimp's first-year discounts on bigger lists and add-ons like texts. SendFox Pro is counted only after your sends run out. You'd also add it if your list passes 5,000 or you want the SendFox footer gone.
