commaikQ: Does this also work with the chatgpt desktop app?
I use the ChatGPT app on my Windows PC (without a browser). That's where I keep my folder structures for projects and chats. The only thing that bothers me sometimes is the loading time for large projects.
What advantages does the AI Toolbox offer for my use case?

If you would use the browser, here's what you'd actually gain:
- Nested folders. ChatGPT's Projects are a flat layer. Ours give you unlimited nesting, so a project can have sub-folders inside sub-folders, plus breadcrumbs and item counts. You can also file chats, GPTs, and a link to a Project side by side in one folder.
- Search across your whole history. Full-text search inside message content, not just titles, with filters. This is the piece that's genuinely relevant to your pain point - see below.
- Bookmarks, tags, saved prompts, and export (TXT, Markdown, JSON, PDF, and bulk ZIP).
On the slow loading of large projects, let me be honest: we don't fix that. That's ChatGPT's own behavior, and our extension doesn't make their project loading faster. What it can do is let you avoid the problem: instead of opening a big project and waiting for it to load so you can find a chat, you search for the chat directly and jump straight into it. Our search runs against a local index in your browser, so it's fast regardless of how big the project is. That sidesteps the wait rather than curing it, which may or may not be what you're after.
One more thing worth knowing: our folders are a separate organizing layer that sits alongside ChatGPT's native Projects. They don't replace or import your existing Project structure, and we can't move chats into or out of a native Project (that stays a ChatGPT action).
