Q: Confusion about the various options. Local+ vs AppSumo LTD.

1) I don't understand fully the options and available routers, and honestly, I don't follow the router idea to begin with. The pricing page lists: Alter Best Model router, Fast router, Light router; what's the Sumo router? I did see a rudimentary breakdown on this in: Model selection quick guide. But, Sumo router isn't listed there. Is there some advantage to Sumo router over others?

2) I already downloaded alter with a free account, added all of my API keys: Google, Claude, OpenAI, & OpenRouter. In pricing under Free you have $29/year Local+ which looks great. Is there any advantage to the AppSumo LTD? The only difference between Local+ and AppSumo seems to be the 2000 remote tools. So, will the local tools still be available after the Tier 1 7500 requests are spent? Are they available to Local+ users? So, what's the best value for me?

A: Hey,

1) Routers are a blend of different models automatically selected for you based on your task. The routers you cite are the ones that comes with our subscriptions plans on the Alter website.

The Sumo router is a new one we designed specifically for this deal and it sits between fast and best. It's able to handle most of the tasks Alter has been designed for without using the latest frontier models.

2) With the $29/year, you are missing the 2000+ remote tools and the included usage you have with the AppSumo deal. The Local tools are available to every plans. Tools are not tied to requests so you can use them with your API keys

You're confusing me again. You said "With the $29/year, you are missing the 2000+ remote tools", and then said "Tools are not tied to requests so you can use them with your API keys." If I buy Tier 1, will I still be able to connect Remote tools like Gmail, Notion, etc. after the 7500 "Requests" have been used up?
