I love what you've done here. Very cool service! I can see using sometime it in the future. With that in mind, do the credits ever expire or will they carry over from month to month so that if I don't use 6 credits one moth, it'll carry over the next month, giving me 12 total credits?
A: Hi, thanks for asking! Yes — any unused credits will roll over to the next month. They can accumulate up to a maximum of 150 credits total, which helps keep things fair for everyone. Hope that clears it up!
A: Hi there! I have lots of ideas and would love to build them all if I could. An AvoMap app for your phone is definitely planned, but I can’t say exactly when it’ll happen. Right now, I’m focusing on more pressing features, like overhauling the timeline to support video and image overlays for better storytelling.
Q: How long do you plan to stay on AppSumo this time?
Your product/offer is very interesting. I would like make some bigger purchases soon and would like to plan my expenses. I will appreciate it if you could tell us how much time there will be to buy this deal.
A: Hi there! AppSumo deals run for a minimum of 120 days (roughly 4 months), and the first month is already coming to an end. I haven't decided yet whether the deal will be extended beyond that, but since it's only been live for about three weeks, there's still some time left to grab it :)
First, congratulations! AvoMap on AppSumo looks super-cool, especially its ability recent flights combined with car journeys and hikes to plot custom animated 3D routes. The ability to pin stops and highlights with icons and throw in your own branding makes it tempting for both fellow travellers and content creators.
Now, here are my questions for the author: with Tier 1 (basic plan with five credits/month) you can make one short video/per credit, and that extras like 4k and more icons cost credits? Let’s say you’re intending to go on a long Southeast Asia run and stop off at places to photograph or film, and bung them on the map, would Tier 1 be enough, or is Tier 2 the way to go for more feature/credit flexibility? Should we go Tier 2 to earn more credits, make more complete videos with the lot?
A: Thanks so much for the kind words — really happy to hear AvoMap caught your eye!
To your question: With Tier 1, you get 6 credits per month, and 1 credit = 1 standard Full HD video. Features like 4K resolution, extra icons, white-labeling/custom branding or longer video durations can cost additional credits depending on what you include.
If you're planning a longer Southeast Asia trip — with multiple segments, stops, and possibly 4K renders — then Tier 2 (which gives you 12 credits per month) might be a better fit.
That said, you can also buy additional one-time credits anytime if you find yourself needing more — so you’re not locked into just the monthly allotment.
So: For quick, occasional videos, Tier 1 might be enough. For more serious travel storytelling or content creation, Tier 2 gives you more freedom — and you can always top up if needed.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
You have an amazing product that I've been following for weeks because, due to my work in the travel industry, it fits my needs perfectly. I came from mult.dev, which is much simpler but has served me well so far.
However, today I was going to buy tier 8-10 and while testing, I found something fundamental missing: TRAIN.
Many of my trips use trains, and I can't find it built in, or I don't know how DRIVE works. I understand the icon can be customized, so it doesn't matter if I'm traveling by 4x4, bus, or rental car, but on the train, I don't know how to handle it.
What are your future roadmap plans? Thank you very much.
A: Really glad to hear AvoMap fits your use case so well.
You're right: trains aren’t supported yet. It’s something I definitely want to add, but I can’t promise when. The tricky part is figuring out how to make train stations searchable and generate routes that actually follow railway lines, not just a straight line between two points.
Same goes for ferries — both are on the roadmap, but they need a bit more work behind the scenes.

Q: Google maps-like phone app?
Will you eventually make a navigation system for traveling?

Trains would be good, that's my use case as well.
