I genuinely enjoy BeFreed, and while my use-case might be unique, I use it mainly for 2 purposes:

1) To "refresh" books I've already read in my mind. – Even IF I listen to all 3 pre-configured lesson types (short, deep, humorous), I can review a book I've read years ago within 40-50 minutes, and refresh the core concepts and gain a renewed understanding of them without having to read the book again.

2) To explore books I might want to read in the future, and decide whether or not they're worth spending time on to read. – This way, I can avoid quitting books halfway through because they're boring or full of BS. While I still believe actually reading a book is better than any summary (however good that summary may be), this helps me choose which books to spend time on.

Now, while I absolutely love the quality of the lessons, the ability to chat with the AI about any topic or book, and the slick UI of the app, overall the way BeFreed is designed makes it a bit cumbersome to use it the way I want to use it...

Let me explain:

The AI auto-creates learning plans based on prompts. So far, I haven't found an intuitive way to just add books & lessons I want to complete to the queue. So, for instance, I can't add all the books I've read before and want to revisit to the queue – I have to find them manually each time I want to take a lesson from them.

Additionally, it's difficult to complete multiple types of lessons from a single book back-to-back. I have to search for the book again, exit my lesson, and start a new lesson from that book. But I'd argue that since repetition is one method to gain a deeper understanding of various ideas, it should be easier to explore a single book, or a single idea with multiple lessons, multiple types of learning, etc.

Again, BeFreed's main use-case might be slightly different that mine... But making these small things easier would greatly enhance my overall user experience with the – otherwise amazing app – and definitely earn my 5th taco.
