Very promising, I’ll likely upgrade after speaking with support

BerqWP is a plugin that promises to optimize even complex websites with ease.

Honestly, my results aren’t as good as with WP Rocket + TwicPics + WP Rocket helpers plugin + homemade plugins tailored to my needs (PSI: 88 vs. 81), but the cost is not the same, and neither is the time I spent setting everything up (years vs. one evening). I get worse results with LiteSpeed, for instance.

I still have quite a few questions about how the plugin works, as I haven’t really delved into it or reached out to support yet. There are some display issues on mobile before interaction, as simply touching the screen triggers link clicks. On certain WooCommerce product pages, there are unexpected "add to cart" actions happening. These are reasonable adjustments to address with support. Nothing unexpected for a site running 60 activated plugins.

The documentation is still a bit sparse, but that’s to be expected since the plugin is relatively new. That said, it often helps reduce support issues.

I believe there’s room for improvement, particularly regarding optimization management when users are logged in. Beyond raw metrics, what interests Google is also the feedback collected via Chrome. However, no optimization plugin currently considers optimization for e-commerce customers, who are often logged in. Maybe Perfmatters does, but you’d need a lot of determination to dive into that and maintain it! For instance, enabling the CDN does not conflict with logged-in users since it involves URL rewriting. There are likely dozens of possible optimizations for logged-in users as well.

In short, it’s a promising plugin. If the business model holds up and the developers remain reliable and customer-focused, it’s probably a very good idea to invest a few euros now!
