Unfortunately, I’m very disappointed with this software. It is extremely unstable: it frequently fails to detect my microphone, stops recording in the middle of sentences, and often fails to recognise words correctly.

What’s particularly frustrating is that, when something goes wrong, the only solution often seems to be to log out and completely restart the app.

Having to do this repeatedly is extremely frustrating and simply makes no sense for a dictation tool.

Overall, I find the software far too unstable for regular use.

I've been using it for months now, but whenever I try to record something longer, it almost always gives an error. So now I will just uninstall this whole thing, because it doesn't worth anything in its current state. Because as much time as it saves, it also loses me for not transcribing properly anything somewhat longer. I used it both on Windows and on iOS. The iOS app as well is annoyingly really slow and has tons of bugs. So for example if you already have the app open and then you want to transcribe something it shows that everything is cool and is listening but it never will write in the transcription. So you always have to make Make sure that you cold start the application whenever you want to transcribe. Also it's a slow process to do. It does not worth to use it even if it were to be free.

I bought this as a replacement to another popular product back in April, on the back of lovely reviews and thinking the login issue will be sorted. I am facing two major issues on this one -
The voice features doesn't transcribe smoothly. For instance, you will be speaking for 2 minutes and then it displays (after you have stopped speaking) saying 'can you speak a bit louder'...and all your instructions/thoughts are gone. This hampers your thought process and obviously workflow. WHY does it not prompt the user immediately if it can't get the voice?

Authentication - There is no direct one or two step auth where user can do googl eauth quickly, the desktop app takes you to browser, you click on google auth, you login , then the browser prompts for back to desktop app, then the app logs in. The moment you exit and start the app again, same issue. I think it's little annoying when you want to start working the app right there and then having logged into the system - its not privacy or security feature, its lack of usability.

These things are putting me off from the continuous use.

Blip AI is one of the best tools I use regularly. I've replaced all my previous apps, since it's perfect for my workflow. The developers continue to improve the product, so I believe they can be trusted long term.

Blip.ai has potential, and the 200,000-word allowance is appealing. However, the app still has frequent transcription errors, including inserts words I did not say, or transcribes words that are totally unrelated (hallucinations), and updates are not being delivered consistently.

The latest release, v0.5.6, was published on July 19, and users are directed to GitHub to download and manually install updates. That may be manageable for technical users, but it is not a particularly accessible update process for everyone.

I have reported several issues, but responses have often been slow or have attributed the problems to my microphone or setup without properly addressing them. I also asked for a timeline for fixes but never received one and the developer either says it will be fixed in the next update, and then it's not, or promised for it to come, but how do you not update your app in almost 2 months with knowing issues?

I am still using the app for now, but buyers should understand that it may not be actively maintained or supported at the level they expect.

Initially the developer was more responsive after the initial AppSumo release, and then has been less and less responsive and I have to follow up with him, only or him to push off accountability and responsibility. There also seem so to be a language barrier as several things I point to in my email are either not addressed or misunderstood. I would have refunded in my window had I know this was how it would go.

PS: It also often does not put the transcription into the chat box I am in, so I have to go manually open the Blipp app and copy from history. Which slows down workflow, and really takes away from the perk of using voice transcription to save time. It's very annoying.
