Not Quite There Yet...
I wanted to like this product because the description was promising, but it's not ready yet, and I disliked it a lot.
I just received an email yesterday announcing version 2.0. The email doesn't have a link to the "new version", so I assume it's the same URL as before, which looks exactly like the old version. Things that I find super annoying about the product:
Confusing, confusing, confusing: Upon login you are always presented with a huge popup that occupies half the real estate. Why? It immediately feels like I've been spammed. It feels incredibly counterproductive and only after a while, I realize that you need to click on the "Close and explore sample..." button.
If you click on "Create your first brand", another popup opens up with instructions on how to create your first brand. Why? I ALREADY clicked on the button!
Once you figure out how to create your first brand, then you go through a maze of clicks and options to add your assets. First, you need to create a "Collection", then you need to create "Groups", and only then, you can create your assets.
Adding assets then it's just a matter of dragging and dropping your asset and editing a few simple fields. I agree that Google Drive may be able to give you the same result at less than half the speed.
I purchased another competing product here on AppSumo months ago, and it's infinitely superior and easier to use than brandbay.
In summary, the UX on this product is terrible and as long as they don't fix it, no one on our team will be using it. I am just afraid that by the time they fix it, they will do a rug pull on us and come up with a new subscription tier for which AppSumo users don't qualify. That's become a common practice for many of these vendors.

May 9, 2024Hello 👋
While BrandBay is still new to the market, we have certainly been on the path to grow and with the new version of BrandBay launched as a new foundation for us to develop further, we are not planning on stopping any time soon. :)
I would hope that experience with prior LTDs would not make you think that BrandBay is not here to stay. Our desire is to honor and value our Sumoling users who have helped us with this launch and each tier bought here has their respective plans of access to include future features as well!
In regards to some of the feedback that you shared, that has actually changed with the new version of BrandBay 2.0 that has launched.
Now creating a brand is as simple as titling it and choosing a color. You now have a clean blank space to make your collections as folders and your groups as subfolders to organize however you would like.
Adding assets now is a simple drag and drop and you can even bulk upload by dragging and dropping. :)
There is no longer any restriction on what assets can belong together, now you can mix whatever assets you have and put it where ever you need. This is one of the main pieces of feedback we had on version 1 and we heard it loud and clear and now things flow nicely in version 2.0.
The UI is completely redone and the layout is new.
The "huge popup" is now gone, that was only in the old version's onboarding. Our old onboarding process was that we put you into a sandbox version of an example brand so you could see an example of how things should look and then you actually got started when you made your first brand.
Now in 2.0 when you sign up and start in BrandBay, you simply go right to the blank start page to make your first brand and the UI is much more simple.
If you see the example brand now it is because you may not have switched away from that example brand yet and made your first brand. If you did not ever make your first brand when you were on the old version and you log in now after the update you may still see that old example brand since you are an existing user, but once you get past that, you will experience BrandBay like any other new user now. :)
We are very glad to have now launched version 2.0 and very thankful for the help of the Sumoling community with the feedback and help to get us there. It seems that everything brought up in the review is actually address in the new version of BrandBay.
If you ever have any questions at all, you can always message us in-app or via support@brandbay.io. We even are more than happy to jump on quick zooms to help you through making certain you get the most out of BrandBay for your agency's or business' workflow!
With all of that said, there is still much more to come with BrandBay as you could still say we are "just getting started" and we are looking forward to the bright future here. :)
