Q: IMAP/SMTP email integration / WhatsApp Business API numbers

Hi Marsad,

From reading other responses could you clarify how email/WhatsApp is connected to your system.

1)How is email connected to your system?
How much do I need to change my DNS settings? I would like to use your platform for email without disruption to using my existing IMAP/SMTP IONOS setup which simply uses a few MX records. As you can understand it would be a signifigant risk for this to be dismantled.

2)What numbers are allowed for the WhatsApp integration?
I have a WhatsApp/Meta Business API number (approved) and currently integrated via Twilio in Missive. I am happy to drop Missive and use your platform but I want to use the same number. It's for qualified leads/clients not mass outreach.

If you could clarify both my use cases are possible and if there are any forthcoming changes to connection options.

A: Hi Matt, hope you are having a great day.

You do NOT need to make any changes to your DNS settings if you use us for emailing. We require DNS changes only if you want to purchase NEW emails (Gmail / Microsoft / Azure) from us on an existing domain. Otherwise, if you already have email account(s) hosted on Google, Microsoft or SMTP, there's absolutely no DNS changes required. We have a one-click setup for any pre-existing accounts.

Any WhatsApp number for which you can generate a WhatsApp Web login link (QR code) can be connected. This includes WhatsApp Business and WhatsApp personal as well.

In terms of future connections, there will absolutely never be a need for anyone to change their DNS connections to connect a pre-existing email account.

To follow up on this - I only want to use a WhatsApp connected to Meta API or Twilio (how existing number setup). I don't want to use WhatsApp Bus/Pers via QR code.

Is it possible to set up use a WA API/Twilio connected number on BJ for automation/workflows?

If not is this being looked at in the future?
Also can I jump in to a automated WhatsApp chat and reply as a human at any time?
