Q: RED FLAG, AVOID THIS PRODUCT AND FOUNDER!
The LTD community is again caught in a deceiving path with a founder trying to REDEFINE what a "Lifetime Deal" is, with lame excuses that early supporters got the best pricing, and new supporters get a better product slightly more expensive.
Early supporters got the lowest price, but were the ones that provided feedback, got patient with crappy and annoying bugs, and funded your way until here.
What dazzles me is AppSumo allowing this and most likely supporting it. The idea that we are investing early in a SaaS with NO STAKE in the company, but only getting product usage as compensation, with only the expectation, that at some point we get a full mature product: GONE!
Thanks Castmagic. Thanks Appsumo, for throwing the LTD meaning even more to the mud.
Castmagic is dead to me, and I will recommend any other app to others from now on.

Dec 30, 2025A: Hi! I hear you and want to respond to the core of it directly.
Where the disconnect seems to be is around how the current AppSumo listing is structured versus the original one. The original AppSumo launch was a single lifetime deal with three internal options simply because there were three choices at the time, at very early pricing. That was the entirety of the offer.
Today’s AppSumo listing is fundamentally different. It includes both annual and lifetime plans, with multiple tiers across each. There are now two annual tiers and three lifetime tiers, each priced and scoped very differently. Those tier labels are reused by AppSumo, but they are not meant to be direct equivalents to the original lifetime deal structure.
Early supporters absolutely helped Castmagic get off the ground. You gave feedback, reported issues, and trusted us earlier than most. That mattered, and I don’t dismiss that.
It’s also important to be accurate about the starting point. Castmagic wasn’t a throwaway or low-quality product in the beginning. Even early on, it was a strong, differentiated tool in the category, and many customers were using it in production from day one. The product has improved and expanded over time, but it didn’t start from zero.
The upside of early support also wasn’t equity or future deal guarantees. It was immediate and ongoing product access at a price that will never exist again. Many early AppSumo customers paid less for lifetime access than what a new customer pays today for an annual Tier 2 plan, and they’ve now had years of full access and continuous upgrades.
New AppSumo buyers are not getting a better product. They’re getting the same product later in its lifecycle, under a different pricing and limit structure that reflects higher costs and usage realities. The presence of new tiers does not mean earlier lifetime purchases automatically convert into them.
What I do want to emphasize is this: early AppSumo customers have a fantastic deal at a great price, and we fully stand behind that. We’ll always support the customers who supported us early by continuing to improve the platform and delivering those improvements to them as part of their lifetime access.
If there’s anything specific you’d like the team to look at with your account, feel free to reach out directly. We genuinely want to make sure you continue to have the best possible experience with Castmagic.
2+ years ago I've paid approx $300 with AS purchase + private upgrades to have 1000 min. Today, someone with AS+, a coupon and the commission you need to pay to AS, gets pretty much the same limits as me, and you receive less than I've paid for a "T5" back then. No upgraded limits whatsoever as a reward; my ROI of having the money sitting on the bank account for 2 years would be much higher. Lame.
