Q: Default play speed and Bandwidth question
Hello Team, 2 questions:
1. I saw in the latest uodate that default play speed is x1.25. This seems like an odd decision because now when people watch our videos everything is sped up, sometimes too fast (for tutorials), and s a pain to change to normal 1x speed each time. Can we have the option to set the default to our preferences?
2. Are there any plans to offer unlimited (or plentiful) bandwidth at least for Tier 3 users? Komodo Decks, Tella and Loom all have this. The limited bandwidth (100GB/week for T3) seems too low for scalability and is what holds me back from committing, and surely there must be others who want to offer courses or tutorials, for example, on Dadan but can’t due to the current impractical limits.

Aug 21, 2025A: Hey there, this is funny because when we launched there were a lot of requests to update the default speed to 1.25X and when we made the change, we are getting requests to make it 1X. The long term idea is to give it as an option so users can set their own speed, but we changed it as a quick fix. We are waiting to hear more feedback on this before we make the change again.
Bandwidth of 100GB per week is per video and not for the account. We don't want to overpromise and fail to deliver in the long run. We woudln't be a large scale hosting partner but the current limits will suffice video sharing and streaming for independent coaches and instructors who primarily need this. I hope you see the long term vision.
iXzenoSPLUSThanks, interesting indeed. Seems like such a niche case to want 1.25x by default and I'm sure many viewers would be confused why the audio sounds like Chip & Dale lol. I would really like to see this reverted back to normal or at least customizable.
As for bandwidth, I get it. Just seems a bit lacking compared to some competitors, and ideally would like to see Dadan match them if possible.
We have a community on Facebook and we will be building dadan with this community, please join the same. We will be elated if we could lift the bandwidth in the long run. But don't want to overpromise anything early. Dadan Insider - Group name.
