Q: Can Dashform expose why each adaptive AI follow-up question was asked?
For structured business discovery, we want every adaptive follow-up to have a decision-useful reason rather than conversational curiosity. Can the response/submission data expose a machine-readable reason for each AI-generated follow-up, such as the missing or ambiguous fact it was trying to resolve, plus the final stopping reason? That would make adaptive funnels easier to audit, compare with fixed forms, and use safely in repeatable intake workflows.

Oct 21, 2026A: Thank you for spelling this out. A follow-up should help resolve something that matters to the discovery process, and its purpose should be available for review.
We are preparing an explainability update that we plan to release in the next couple of days. The intended output includes machine-readable metadata alongside each adaptive follow-up:
• The missing or ambiguous fact the question is intended to clarify.
• The relevant earlier answer or discovery requirement that prompted it.
• A concise explanation of how the clarification supports the assessment.
We also plan to expose a final stopping reason, distinguishing between sufficient information collected, the configured follow-up limit reached, or the respondent ending the conversation with information still unresolved.
These explanations will be separate from the respondent-facing question text, so they can support auditing and downstream workflows without adding clutter to the intake experience.
This capability is part of the upcoming update, so we do not want to imply that the complete metadata is already available today. We will document the output structure and provide a sample submission when it ships.
Thank you again. Your examples are helping us make adaptive discovery more useful for repeatable business workflows.
