Q: Questions - Guzz
Hi sohaib
Depending on your answer, I'll make the purchase:
- According to your response on https://appsumo.com/s/1qz12z6/, you say that:
(products, prices, FAQs, documents you import) are not deducted from that budget. Do you mean that characters or credits are not deducted?
- Is the creation of One Inbox and web chat unlimited, and is it done with code or through the DMC API?
- Does "sub-accounts" refer to the number of WhatsApp numbers I can connect?
- Once the single-use credits run out, what is the minimum package I can buy and what is the cost?
- What is the definition of an agent?
Thanks Guzz

Aug 14, 2026A: Hey Guzz, good questions. One by one:
1. Characters. That answer was about the character limit on an agent's instructions (its personality, rules and goals). Your knowledge base (products, prices, FAQs, imported documents) is stored separately and does not count against those characters at all. Credits are a different thing: they only get used when the AI actually does work, like replying to a lead. Typing knowledge in manually costs nothing. Only when you let the AI auto-extract FAQs from a document or website does it use a small amount (about 1 credit or less per 100,000 characters processed, you see the exact estimate before you confirm, and it's free if you have your own API key connected). For completeness, the instruction budget per agent depends on the tier: 20k characters on Plan 1, 50k on Plan 2, 75k on Plan 3 and the full 100k on Plans 4 to 6.
2. The inbox is built in, nothing to create: every account and every sub-account gets its own inbox where all channels land. Same for the website chat widget: it's included, you set it up in the dashboard and install it by pasting a single line of code on your site, no coding skills or API needed. You can put it on as many pages and sites as you want and even route different pages to different agents. There is also a REST API (Plan 2 and up) if you want custom integrations, but the widget doesn't need it.
3. No. Sub-accounts are separate client workspaces you manage from one dashboard, each with its own inbox, channels, agents and knowledge base. That's for agencies serving multiple clients, and they start at Plan 2: you get 3 on Plan 2, 10 on Plan 3, 20 on Plan 4, 100 on Plan 5 and unlimited on Plan 6 (Plan 1 is a single workspace). WhatsApp numbers are channels, and channels are unlimited on every tier, so you can connect as many numbers as you want in any workspace. The running costs are the connections themselves: a WhatsApp Web number is 50 credits a month, a number rented through us starts at 50 credits a month (the exact price shows before you rent it), and WhatsApp's own message fees are passed through at cost. If you connect your own WhatsApp Business Account, Meta bills those message fees to you directly.
4. Credits are $0.10 each and you top up straight from the dashboard: minimum 100 credits ($10), up to 10,000 per purchase, with optional auto-recharge. Tip: from Plan 2 up you can plug in your own Anthropic API key (BYOK). One thing to know there: new agents start on our Max setting, which runs on our own model at 0.25 credits per action even with a key connected. Switch the agent to the Pro tier and AI actions (responses, tool calls, campaign generation, FAQ generation) run fully on your key at zero credits.
5. An agent is an AI salesperson you configure: you give it instructions (who it is, what it sells, how it should talk), attach a knowledge base, and connect it to your channels (WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, website chat and so on). From there it handles the conversations itself: answers questions, handles objections, qualifies leads and books appointments. You can create as many agents as you need, and the instruction budget from question 1 applies per agent.
Hope that helps!
Hi
The reply arrived too late; the promotion has already ended. Thank you.
Ah, that's a shame Guzz. Worth knowing for next time: every AppSumo purchase comes with a 60 day refund window, so the move is always to grab the deal first, ask your questions after, and refund if the answers don't fit. Waiting on a reply while the countdown ran out was the one way to actually miss it. If DM Champ shows up on AppSumo again, now you know the play.
