Customers appreciate DocXter - Plus Exclusive for its effective organization, AI agents, and user-friendly model choices. However, some users faced parsing issues and encountered difficulties with the help chat. The user interface lacks intuitiveness and an easy "upload" button, and the knowledge base navigation needs improvement. Despite these drawbacks, DocXter - Plus Exclusive is a promising tool with room for growth. With a 60-day money-back guarantee, it's worth giving it a try.

Abandoned app
The app is abandoned for approx. a year. No new LLMs, no support answers. The "newest" LLM models are Gemini Flash 2.0 and Claude 3.7 (And they are not ashamed to reply by email that they have the latest models). It just "works" to some extent, it certainly does have it's uses and could have been a great app. But unfortunately, it's a half-baked app that has already been surpassed. It has horible UI, very bad OCR. It's one of those apps that had potential, but ultimately turned out to be a one-time/short-term cash grab. Was it worth the money for me? Looking back at how much time I spent on the app (because it did not always give me proper results due to problems with OCR), if I had used other options, definitely not.

Just ok nothing great
The app promises to be good at comparing documents and reading OCR text. However, it falls short in both categories. The responses are also lacking and only giving a fraction of the prompt. This seems like something that was rushed to the market.

Provisional 5 stars
This came back for a 2-day sale; I literally was able to get DocXter with just minutes to spare before it became unavailable again. My initial impression is good! I have been looking for a reliable document scanner/chat for grad school PDFs. The purpose is not to replace me reading PDFs but help me solidify my knowledge and also search docs when I need to refresh info.
I have tried other PDF chats at AppSumo with mixed results. Often they don't seem to index the document that well. With DocXter, I've only had a chance to upload a 30 page paper and chat with it, but it worked great and was able to give me the summary and other points I needed.
I like the options of the different prompts but only tried the educational literature review so far.
I think the main downside is that the credit system is a bit complex and confusing; you eat credits by uploading as well as having docs searched, in addition to output. A simplified and more generous credit system would probably be better in the long run. But overall, I'm cautiously optimistic and giving this a provisional 5 stars.

nice idea - didnt work for me
I was not able to get this application to work.
I tried it on Chrome and Safari.
I tried it on a Mac, Android and Ipad
every time I got an error code.
I am sure it is my lack of technical skills, I am a simple user but I need products to work so sadly refunded this time.

DocXter Tier 3 Review: Promising, Yet Room for Growth
I’ve updated my review to reflect recent changes and improvements in DocXter.
I've been using DocXter Tier 3 for three months and am overall satisfied. Here's my breakdown:
### Pros:
- **Effective Organization:** It organizes documents well and allows efficient searching.
- **AI Personalities:** The pre-set AI personalities fit their purpose.
- **Model Choices:** Uses OpenAI and Anthropic, which are adequate.
- **User-Friendly Switches:** Easily switch use cases or models.
- **Improved Interface:** Added an easy "start" button and removed the "upgrade" button.
### Cons:
- **Parsing Issues:** Document parsing can fail post-processing, with no easy retry option. Deleting and redoing is the only fix, though credits aren’t used.
- **Help Chat Issues:** Promises email follow-up, but nothing happens.
- **AI Agents Update:** The promised AI agents are just expanded AI personalities with new graphics. Selection is faster, but there are too many to easily identify the right one.
- **Navigation Limitations:** No navigation among collections, and within a single file collection, the model is still "deaf."
- **Missing Automation:** Needs an "Inbox" collection for email/API document sending. Pre-processing and collection suggestions would enhance usability. An automated filter like Gmail's would be beneficial.
Overall, as an evolving software, I'm satisfied. I view the quirks as growing pains and expect improvements like AI Agents and better document processing. I give it five tacos because the founders are targeting a critical user niche and are working hard. However, they need to balance coding with strategic planning to ensure long-term success. Speed isn’t always the best approach.
