A: Hey Rishi! 👋 Great question — and you’re not alone in thinking about how to keep Encharge synced with your backend.
There are 3 main ways to update contact details in Encharge:
1. CSV Import (manual sync) You already mentioned this — and yep, it works! But definitely not ideal if you’re trying to keep things in sync automatically.
2. API (recommended for dev teams) Yes! Encharge offers a...
Awesome. Actually I am currently using your sdk , the js enctracking to ident the users, this is working for me. Is this the API you are talking about ?Actually how is this different from the injest api... Just asking. My backend is a a mongo database but that doesn't matter so much , it's nice to send the data from my client side app directly when the user logs in and updates something .
Yep! That JS snippet is part of our site tracking SDK — it's different from the Ingest API. You're using the client-side method, which updates contact info in real time based on user behavior. Perfect for your setup 👌
Just a heads-up: the Ingest API is backend-only and part of the Premium plan, so it’s not included in the 2025 LTD.
That makes sense. No problem about the ingest api, im glad that the js snippet works the way it does -- but curious though as to the functionality of the ingest vs the js tracking -- i mean i could use the js tracking in a node backend and update user profiles from there no? Unless there is more functionality that the ingest api offers.. -- thanks for your prompt response ---
Great question! You can technically call the JS identify() from Node, but it’s not really designed for server-side use, it relies on browser context like cookies.
The Ingest API is built for backend use and offers more power + flexibility, but it’s part of the Premium plan (not included in the 2025 LTD). If the JS snippet is working well for your use case, you’re good to roll with that! 🙌
We did come back to AppSumo earlier this year under new ownership, but that campaign has now ended and there aren’t any confirmed plans to bring Encharge back again.
That said, we’ve definitely heard from a lot of people like you who missed the deal — and while we don’t want to promise anything we may change our mind on later, we’re keeping all...
If you're having an activation issue, the best and fastest way to resolve it is to email us at support@encharge.io — our support team monitors that inbox directly and will prioritize anything related to license activation, especially during the AppSumo campaign.
Just make sure to include: • The license code from AppSumo (not just the order number) • The...

Hi, I'm trying to set up Zapier to feed new users of my app into a Flow in Encharge. At the moment I seem to only be able to 'add a Tag' in a 3rd step in Zapier. The multi-step Zaps requires the Zapier Pro plan ($300 / yr). Please can I check if there are any plans to be able to add a tag in the 2nd step, where we map the data to the fields like email, name etc.
You guys describe this 3rd step here: https://help.encharge.io/en/article/tag-a-person-in-a-zap-in-zapier-lw4z6d/
At the moment a workaround I'm using is to add the tag in Company field and my segment conditions are now the tag or the company field. This might not work well in the longrun, hence the question above. Thanks
A: Great question—and you're totally right in how you've spotted the limitation.
At the moment, Zapier's "Add or Update Person in Encharge" action unfortunately does not support tags natively. That's why the workaround we recommend is the 3-step Zap:
• Step 1: Your trigger (e.g. new signup) • Step 2: Add or Update Person in Encharge (map name, email, etc.) • Step 3: Add Tag in Encharge
Hi David, thanks for your detailed reply and totally understand that getting Zapier to change is probably the bigger blocker. I'll check out Pabbly Connect .. thanks for the suggestion. Super impressed with Encharge so far!!!
Q: How to update contacts?
If a contact detail has changed, how do we update Encharge to match our backend, the only way I see it is to upload a csv everytime?
Is there an API we can use to update contacts details which we can use in broadcast email?

Q: Upgrade Plan
Hi!
Is there a special offer for upgrading to premium?
How does Encharge Premium beat the top competition?
