Q: Why aren't we allowed to claim exclusive copyright ownership?
On your site it says we are not allowed to "Claim exclusive copyright ownership".
If I am the songwriter why aren't I allowed to claim copyright over songs finetuning helps me set to music?

Jun 15, 2026A: Copyright offices (e.g. the US Copyright Office) generally don't grant copyright to fully AI-generated audio because it lacks human authorship.
This isn't unique to us — Suno works the same way (after their Warner Music deal they even removed "ownership" language and grant users only a commercial license, not enforceable copyright). It's the industry standard for AI music. You get full freedom to use and monetize your tracks; you just can't lock others out of similar AI output.
You can however take the AI output as a base and transform it with some human level of creativity on top and that would then work for full copyright holding.

Stuart your response is concerning to me. The OP said they are a songwriter. 1 of the reasons I bought finetuning is because I want to take the lyrics of my songs & have AI generate different musical variations. I don't need finetuning to write 1 word for me. Are u saying that if we share any song lyrics with the finetuning platform we lose our copyright ownership because of your platform rules??

If you are using lyrics which are yours and copyrighted then I would assume that it would come under enough human input to be copyrightable. With AI being such a new technology, there is not really a black and white answer to give here. We certainly do not claim any ownership or anything to what is created.
