I expected this to have useful information shortened into 5-15 minute reads. However, the quality so far has been nothing but subpar. Key points that I was interested in were glossed over at times while the AI spits out a load of slop that I wasn't interested in.

The AI reading is also monotone without much emotions, drawling on and on at times without embodying the emotions that i would typically expect from an audio book explaining a topic on say self-disciple. Sometimes, you can even very clearly tell when the AI would expand on parts of a topic just to meet the time limit...

The speed is another unstable factor, sometimes the AI would rush their sentences while other times, in a new book, the AI would be speaking slower than a granny. Their speed controls are not comfortable to work with as the AI just jumbles the words up.

I really hope that this will improve in the long run but I'll be refunding first as this was not what I had in mind when I first purchased.

I totally love it! I appreciate that I can use it both on Android and PC (easier to copy some parts of text to keep as notes for myself in different Notebooks in OneNote to classify by subject; never tried Highlight or Remember options yet). It offers a wide choice of books but I'd love more of scientific or history books. Love the different growth plans, repetition cards, quizzes, collections & specially the Gems which summarize several books on a given topic. Would like, when I do a search, to have a sign in the result list that shows if I already have put the book in my library (or even finished reading it) & maybe possibility to have different categories/shelves in the library; also to do a search in my library (instead of in the whole of the app). Good to be able to sort library on Titles (instead of just date selected) & to mark summaries as Finished. Don't understand what the Download option does as the application doesn't seem to work when offline (when I did a search, it didn't show the one book I had downloaded, said "No summary found"; showed only Finished ones; maybe I must get more familiar with the app). I had one Short were it didn't pick up my choice (between self-confidence, self-awareness & self-discipline), it always showed self-awareness. I also don't know how to navigate the shorts. The section showing latest summaries is a bit short, can I sort books by date added to check only those added since I last had a look? I don't know how to change the "Categories you're interested in" (I have selected the max 3 goals). But, as I've said, I need more time to explore. I think the summaries are well-written & the app encourages you to discover more & improve yourself.

I tried this app on trial and loved it because it's very good for learning a lot about a book you're interested in, via audio, in just 10 to 15 minutes.

I purchased a lifetime subscription to Hedway, so I made a significant upfront investment and honestly expected much more value.

After reading and listening to more than 10 book summaries, I have to say I’m disappointed. So far, I’ve gained virtually no new knowledge from the content. I only bookmarked two ideas, and even those were fairly basic and not particularly insightful.

My biggest issue is that the summaries often feel too shallow — they lack real depth and substance. I expected condensed content, but not stripped-down content. A great summary should preserve the core insights and intellectual meat of a book, and too often that’s missing here.

Many summaries feel like generic high-level takeaways rather than the most valuable ideas from the original books. At times, I get the impression these summaries are not genuinely crafted by people deeply understanding the books, but are instead heavily automated or even AI-guessed approximations of what the books might contain. That is how some of them feel — not like distilled high-value knowledge, but like predicted content assembled from patterns.

I also started getting the impression that much of the content may be overly AI-generated, because many summaries follow a repetitive formula and feel mechanical rather than thoughtfully curated.

Another issue is quality control. I noticed dictation/narration errors in Polish, which hurts the experience.

What surprised me most is that books I thought would be highly valuable turned out, in summary form, to contain mostly obvious or overly simplified ideas. Since each book is condensed into around ten short chapters, I expected higher information density and stronger insight per minute.

I’m also disappointed by how few settings and customization options the app offers. For example, it is very frustrating that after finishing one audio summary, the app immediately starts playing another one automatically, and as far as I can tell there is no option to disable this. For a learning app, user control over playback and listening behavior should be basic functionality.

For a product positioned around learning and key ideas, I expected much more substance, originality, editorial quality, and better user experience — especially as a lifetime customer.

There is potential here, but right now the content feels too superficial for people looking for meaningful learning rather than motivational clichés or basic self-help takeaways.
