QuevikoQ: Audio recording quality
Hi,
I bought it and tried it.
Quality of recording is really poor.
I'm using another tool (voicenotes) that can record voice notes.
The quality is incredible even in noisy environments.
I tried both in same conditions. Voicenotes was wonderful, Hely did almost not detect a single correct word and spoke about something totally out of subject.
Are you planning (and when) to improve the recording quality?
As well, what llm is used?

Thanks for your feedback! We approach speech recognition fundamentally different than other apps, such as Voicenotes. Other apps rely on cloud processing for your voice, sending the audio online to process. Hedy processes all your audio locally, improving privacy and allowing real-time feedback.
While we expect the quality of the on-device speech recognition to be lower than cloud-based speech recognition (we must use a way smaller model to process the audio since we don't have the power of an entire server), Hedy does need to get a decent overview of what's being said to be useful.
In your case specifically, something else must be going on since it's not capturing any useful information from the conversation. Could you shoot us an email at support (at) hedy.bot so we can dive deeper into your issue?
Probably it did not get enough content. It was a quick test.
But, what I remark is that in the Highlights tab, all French accents were wrong (codes instead of accents), like this exemple : " s'il était bien les choses.
Et voilà que maintenant, on a des choses.
Ils arrivent près de moi et s'installent dans le canapé. C'est vraiment pénible". Something is definitely not correct.
Thanks for the example of the incorrect characters. We'll get that fixed!
We recommend giving Hedy a few minutes to listen to a conversation before engaging, to make sure it knows what's being discussed. The speech recognition model also can require a minute to warm up.
