Q: Program stops working on Android.
Unfortunately, Hedy stops recording you after 5 to 10 minutes. Regardless if I use other apps or not. How to fix this? I have Samsung Galaxy S23. Thank you.

Got it, thanks for letting us know. We're aware that newer versions of Android have been getting more aggressive in terminating Hedy when it's processing audio in the background (I also mentioned this in our last newsletter). Our recommendation is to keep Hedy running in the foreground for now if you are noticing that it gets terminated when running in the background.
Issue is more when it gets to sleep mode. As I cannot focus on my phone status during a meeting. After few minutes it goes in screen off, and often gets hedy stop.
Thanks for letting us know. Hedy should actually prevent the screen from turning off during a session unless you manually turn it off or change apps. Either way, we're trying to resolve this issue and stop Android from stopping Hedy sessions in the background. Could you confirm which version of Android your Galaxy S20 Edge is running?

Same thing here. Using Pixel 9 Pro. Can't rely on Hedy, so I'm using Google Recorder to record and the sharing the audio file to Hedy. Nice work around, but still tedious. Plus, sometimes it says it will take over an hour to transcribe. There's got to be a fix. I have changed all of permissions to give Hedy everything that I can and have given it access to write over other apps.
I completely understand your frustration. Personally, I'm on a Google Pixel 8 Pro and need to keep Hedy running in the foreground as well.
We've been monitoring this issue on the Google Android side, hoping they would release a fix (it affects a lot of apps that do background processing), but so far nothing. One stop gap that we are planning on implementing is to pause background processing.
