I wrote to appsumo support to get my refund but didn't get a specific response, just:
Please contact us once you've transferred your data anytime before January 31, 2025 and we'll be happy to process your refund under our We Got Your Back guarantee.
I transferred my data and deleted every site linked to Illow so I wrote again to get my refund but still got the same response:
Please contact us once you've transferred your data anytime before January 31, 2025 and we'll be happy to process your refund under our We Got Your Back guarantee.
I was expecting a response like ok, we've processed the refund. It seems like the refund process is a bit opaque.
I love the illow platform and feel gutted that we are just being abandoned after investing in them in their early days. Is there nothing that AS can do to get them to honour our deal? I appreciate the offer of a refund but would much rather continue using the product that I purchased...
Q: Illow has been acquired - Yes, it appears an internal acquisition
Read the email. This appears to be an internal acquisition. Attracting corporate clients = more income higher sales There are smokes and mirrors going on here not just to appsumo buyers but Appsumo themselves
Q: This is shutting by virtue of an internal acquisition
look at the email, it is clear there is a restructure and secondly, that these are related entities buying this project. These growth paths having been on appsumo so quickly are not after thoughts. This is what appears a clearly Setout plan and corporate clients, being higher paying ones, should allow financial coverage of the LTD people - and this my friends is the issue. We are all commodities at the end of the day and they have taken money, then flipped the deal on a restructure wihtout us here.
It all ended well for me, with the refund (in credits) even six months after the end of the "We Got Your Back" cover. Trust reinstated. Thank you Appsumo!
I got to say I exclusively use Appsumo for nearly every deal for a long time now. The crew are making changes, and i am sure they would share the same disappointment as us. There aren't many alternative sellers that have gone into bat (issuing or would do) like AS.
Q: So now it's closing down what are our alternatives?
Such a shame to hear this today, as this app has worked so well for me. Now begins the painstaking task of finding a replacement solution to apply to 100+ websites. :-(
Does anyone have any low-cost suggestions for something similar to Illow that won’t break the bank?
Hey John and Taz, we're probably not alone. AppSumo also had Cookie YES before, asked AS support if they can bring them back, perhaps it would help if you also did too.
Some of the price points for paid cookie solutions are borderline criminal. I refuse to pay such ludicrous amounts for a cookie popup, so the search continues!
Thanks for the link; it looks promising, and the pricing is good. However, I preferred Illow's method of not requiring a plugin and having a centralised platform. It appears to be very new with no reviews, so it's hard to assess.
@darren861, I completely agree! I'm looking for a centralized platform too. I've started putting together a list of all the options. Many to go through. Not the holiday plans I imagined. 😆
That's the correct link. I didn't post it because I didn't think we could put links in here! Sorry! They are in the process of getting Google certified.
Yes, it's getting the job done. It's not as full-featured as illow, but it works and covers the bases. It's only a 0.3.3 release, and it is doing a lot so far. I hope it will work well.

Appsumo should not allow this to happen and should try to negotiate support for LTD licences. I'm loosing trust.

Yes it does seem underhand. Ditching us as customers as we no longer serve any value.
I am suprised that this comment was approved. Normally these comments does not go through... Hope to see more such comment approvals.

Team AppSumo can you please bring in a couple of Google Consent Mode v2 options for us to switch over to?
Yes this would be good it’s needed. Such a shame them are shutting down to seem exclusively into the enterprise space 😳
Been looking through replacements all day. Can't find anything close to illow deal. :( Still hunting.

I got all excited when I found the Cookie Yes promo but heart sank when realised it was old deal :-(

So true! If I find anything interesting I'll be sure to drop a link here - Would be most appreciative if anyone else links to any possible solutions!
Look up Must Have Plugins Cookie Consent. They have a LTD. They are getting Google certification.

thanks but can't find it, what's It called?
Here’s a link to the tool @gkc mentioned: https://musthaveplugins.com/cookie
Website says it supports “Google convent mode v2 compliance.” Is that different from google “certification?”

Complianz or Termageddon are decent looking alternatives.

thanks, I'll keep an eye on it. I have a bit of time so don't want to rush into a solution and make the same mistake I made with illow.
