Easy to start, but the AI writing needs stronger prompt control
I’m still early in my 60-day evaluation, so this is based on my experience so far.
I can see Inkfluence being useful for someone new to AI who wants help getting a book project started. Creating chapters is straightforward, generation is fast, and having the writing, formatting, cover, and export tools in one place could simplify the process.
For someone with more advanced AI workflows, the writing engine may feel limiting. I provided a detailed prompt for a business book chapter, but the first output added a 30-day plan, weekly milestones, and tactical recommendations I had specifically tried to avoid. A stricter second prompt improved the result, but it still missed a required framework and came in well below the requested length. The output was fast, but it required enough correction that the time savings became questionable.
The cover editor also felt limited in its image selection. I still need to test the formatting and export features, which may end up being the platform’s strongest value for me.
My suggestions for the developers would be tighter prompt adherence, better control over length and scope, stronger use of uploaded source material and voice guidance, a clearer editing workflow, and more cover options or easier use of external artwork.
I don’t think this is a bad tool. Beginners may find it helpful for structure and momentum. More advanced users should test it with a real project and judge the time required to reach a usable draft, not just how quickly it generates the first one.

Jul 17, 2026Thanks for such a thoughtful, detailed review, and for taking the time while you're still early in the eval.
A couple of quick tips that help a lot: the writing engine responds best when you tell it what to focus on rather than what to avoid, and if you state a target length and any must-use framework directly in the prompt it will hold to them much more closely. You can also feed in your own...

Overall, it's one of the best applications of its kind that I've used so far
At first, I was pleasantly surprised by the ability to create an attractive EPUB layout. Unfortunately, there's only one layout template.
I quickly had to upgrade to a Level 3 subscription because Level 1 and 2 credits run out very fast, especially when you're still learning the app.
Personally, I'm surprised and frustrated that this app, designed for the now globalized publishing world, is so poorly compatible with the publishing language other than English!
The app is heavily focused on English, which is limiting when you want to work in your preferred language.
Currently, inserting images into the text is done manually; automatic image integration based on the subject and text would be a significant advantage.
Overall, it's one of the best applications of its kind that I've used so far, and I think it has great potential, especially if it adapts better to the needs of international users and offers more presentation flexibility.

Jul 16, 2026Thanks for the detailed review!
A couple of tips that should help: you can write your book prompt in your preferred language and the AI will generate in that language, and there's also a built-in translate feature for converting a finished book.
For images, try the AI illustration button in the chapter editor: it generates images based on the chapter's content, no manual sourcing needed....

i like inkfluence ai, and this is the review that can change your platform's life if you take the advice.
Inkfluence is a 5 star product for me when it comes to creating e-books quickly. I also like that it can create books in multiple formats, including Word and PDF, which is one of the main reasons I bought it.
I would like to request a possible future feature for Inkfluence: an AI storyboard writing tool and a movie manuscript tool. This would give you a unique advantage over other e-book platforms if you add this feature.
Since Inkfluence is already good at helping people create stories and books, I think it could also help users turn those stories into detailed written storyboards for short films, long films, music videos, or book adaptations. Other companies have storyboard generators but where i believe they have it wrong is they don't begin with the full story. So i got to thinking this is where inkfluence could fix a unique problem by making a written storyboard into sections.
I am not suggesting that Inkfluence generate images or videos. I am suggesting that it create the detailed written information people need before using AI video tools such as Seedance 2.0.
Here is the idea i am proposing that inkfluence ai builds into their platform as a feature:
The feature could break a story into 15 second storyboard sections, since many AI video clips are created in short increments. For every 15 second section, Inkfluence could write a complete prompt style description that explains exactly what should appear in that scene.
For example, each section could include:
- Detailed character descriptions, including appearance, age range, hairstyle, clothing, personality, emotion, and important visual details that must remain consistent.
- Detailed location descriptions, including the setting, time of day, weather, lighting, background details, props, atmosphere, and overall visual style.
- What happens in the scene, including character movement, actions, reactions, and important story moments.
- Dialogue or narration for that specific 15 second scene.
- Camera and cinematic details, such as shot type, angle, movement, focus, mood, and pacing.
- A ready to copy prompt description users can paste into an AI video generator.
Before creating the storyboard, Inkfluence could give users four different ways to build the project:
- AI guided option - Inkfluence suggests character descriptions, locations, wardrobe, visual style, and story settings, then asks the user to approve or revise those details before writing the storyboard.
- User provided option - The user enters their own character descriptions, locations, story rules, dialogue, visual style, and other details before the storyboard is written.
- Collaborative option - The user provides a basic idea, and Inkfluence helps improve it by suggesting stronger character descriptions, more detailed locations, better scene ideas, visual consistency, dialogue, and story flow before writing the final storyboard.
- Book upload option - The user uploads a book they created with Inkfluence and uses it as the foundation for the storyboard. Inkfluence could pull out the characters, locations, plot points, dialogue, and key events, then organize them into a structured 15 second scene by scene storyboard. The user could review and approve character descriptions, location details, visual style, and story changes before the final storyboard is written.
This would help users keep their characters, locations, wardrobe, story details, and visual style consistent across every 15 second scene.
I think this would be a very unique feature because it would allow someone to create a book with Inkfluence, then turn that same book into a complete written storyboard and prompt package for AI video creation. It would give creators another major reason to buy Inkfluence, especially people who want to bring their books and stories to life as films without needing Inkfluence itself to generate the actual video.

Jul 2, 2026Thank you, that's a genuinely sharp idea.
Turning a finished book into a scene by scene written prompt package (characters, locations, shots, dialogue) for AI video tools is a really interesting direction, and it fits naturally with what Inkfluence already does.
I can't promise a timeline, but I've logged your write-up as a serious feature idea.
Thanks for taking the time to lay it out,...

Love the creations
Okay I love this book creation suite. I wanted to test it so I made a book about mathematics. It added active recall exercises. Awesome, didn't expect that and was glad one of the pillars of rapid learning was there. Next it added an answer key. Yes it seem obvious, but other apps missed it entirely so I am more than impressed. I can make an audio book of 30 chapters with the tier I purchased so if I want an ebook and audiobook bundle it's there in the same place.
I can edit any part of the book and also re-make it into something different. With unlimited chapters I can make a book modify it any way I want then completely remake it again into workbook, course or study guide with a few clicks. Colors, formatting and language are also options. Then if that wasn't enough I can add headers, footers, copyright, branding, page numbers and the list goes on. You can change the readability and it gives you a readability score and grade level (like 5th grade etc). I can even add chapters after the book has been generated. All your text formatting is present too. If I don't like the font I can change it to any preset. If you export it to DOCX you have the plain text to change fonts to whatever you want. If exporting to PDF the table of contents is linked so I can click and it take me to the chapter.
If you are looking for an ai tool that helps you create for yourself, to sell or just to create, Inkfluence is hard to beat. With all the options and tools they provide I hope they don't get rid of this core set because I don't think anyone would have a problem sitting down and creating something truly original in a day. I don't want to take from anyone else's review but Inkfluence was fun to use and create with and I am glad I purchased it.

Jun 25, 2026Thanks Bdub, this means a lot.
You clearly put it through its paces: the active recall and answer key on a maths book, remixing one book into a workbook or course, the linked contents in the PDF.
That core toolkit is not going anywhere, it is the heart of what we do, and what we build next only adds to it.
Glad you had fun creating with it, and glad to have you with us.
