Q: Infection Detected - anyone else getting this message?
Is anyone else getting an "infection detected" when trying to visit joyQR? I continue to get this message from Avast:
Infected URL: https://joyqr.com/
Threat: URL:Blacklist
This URL contains malicious code that could harm your computer. If you’re willing to risk it, you can turn off your Avast Web Shield to continue. But we strongly recommend walking away from this one.
A: JoyQR itself does not host any malicious code. However, since we offer free creation of bio pages, it’s possible that in rare cases, some users may add links pointing to external malicious or phishing websites. While the malicious content is not hosted on our servers, some antivirus tools like Avast may flag our domain as a precaution.
We actively monitor our platform and block users who abuse the service. We’ve already submitted a false positive report to Avast and other security providers to resolve this flag.
If Avast provides more details (such as a specific subpage being flagged), we’d appreciate it if you could share that with us. It will help us act even faster.
Thank you for your patience and support as we work to keep JoyQR safe for everyone.
Is it possible to have the QR code point to a link depending on whether android / iOS? It would be helpful to direct users to app store or google play depending on the device (considering my QR is done to redirect to download an app). If not possible directly, any walk around for that?
A: Thanks for your question! Unfortunately, we don’t support device-based redirects (e.g. iOS vs Android) within JoyQR just yet.
A possible workaround is to use a third-party link shortener or smart redirect service that supports device detection. You can then link your JoyQR code to that URL.
Alternatively, you can use a JoyQR Bio Page that displays two buttons — one for the App Store and one for Google Play — so users can choose based on their device.
Hi. I'm looking for a solution to 1. Bulk create QR codes for 250 delegates. 2. Enable registration and check on using the qr codes I've already purchased JoyQR Is this possible?
A: Hi, At the moment, JoyQR does not support bulk QR code creation or built-in event check-in functionality.
For your use case, you could consider using a third-party event management tool that supports attendee check-ins and generates unique links for each delegate. You can then use JoyQR to create QR codes for those links individually,
1. There doesn't seem to be a way to send support a message in the app. 2. If modifying an exiting QR code URL, does the image change? i.e. do I need to resend peoople the QR code image if the URL changes?
You can contact us directly via our support page: https://joyqr.com/contact or email us at support@joyqr.com.
If you’re modifying the URL of an existing Dynamic QR Code, the image does not change—you don’t need to resend the QR Code. Dynamic QR Codes allow you to update the destination URL while keeping the same QR Code.
On the other hand, Passive QR Codes (which directly encode the URL) cannot be changed, meaning you would need to resend a new QR Code if the URL changes.
Our QR Codes are dynamic by default, but you can still enable passive/static QR Coded, if needed.
Let me know if you need any further clarification!
Q: Can the QR code prompt user to add full contact details to their phone?
Hi, I am looking to have a QR code which, upon scanning it, will prompt the person to add my contact details to their phone. I would like to know if JoyQR can do this. Thanks in advance.
Yes! JoyQR supports vCard QR Codes, which allow users to add your contact details to their phone upon scanning. You can include details such as your name, phone number, email, company, and more.
