I have a powerful laptop that handles a range of apps and recording capabilities. However, despite that, I cannot get a 'clean', high resolution screen recording using Konvey. I also have a terrible time getting the default mic to work properly. I resorted to opening Konvey in Chrome and trying to record the screen from Edge. Still resulted in delayed video, glitchy video, and very slow rendering of web pages in the browser. Often the screen was frozen in the recording. The results are even worse when I tried recording both screen + camera. I made attempts to troubleshoot with their team but that too failed. Huge disappointment.

Not yet a Loom killer...
Basic functionalities are missing or not working. For example, I was never able to record a video of one tab of my browser with my cam. I said I wanted my screen + cam, I chose my tab and saw my webcam during the recording but then it didn't appear on the end video. I wrote to the support which didn't seem surprised and just advised me to record my all screen instead of one tab to see my cam. Could be a short term workaround but not acceptable as a long term solution and 2 months later, it's still the same. Also, in my last try, I even lost my video. It said it was uploaded correctly and I never could find it on my dashboard.
Also, there's no video editing, not even basic things like cutting the beginning or the end.

I would have been ready to trade some Loom "advanced" video editing feature for the possibility to invite anonymous people to record videos with a link but it's not even to that point yet. Basically, I consider the product not production ready and I see the roadmap focus only on advanced marketing possibilities when the foundation is still not there. I refunded my purchase as I don't think Konvey has the right priorities and it may threaten the future of the project.

I had high hopes for this product, I expected it to be a solid alternative to Loom. Unfortunately, it falls short in several critical areas. The biggest issue is the complete lack of support—when you run into problems, there’s no help to be found. On top of that, there have been no updates or improvements for a long time. The software is outdated and very unreliable. I would not recommend this product at all! If you are looking for viable alternatives to Loom, save your time and look elsewhere.

I recently had the opportunity to use a video recording software that, while functional, left much to be desired. My primary expectation was to utilize a custom URL for my videos. I discovered that it is indeed possible to create a custom URL by setting up a CNAME record. However, a significant drawback of this software is that it prominently displays the company logo KONVEY, which diverts visitors away from my site after they watch a video. This fundamentally defeats the purpose of having a custom URL.

The software operates adequately for basic video recording tasks, but it lacks several key features that would enhance the user experience and overall functionality. I reached out to the software development team regarding my concerns, and while they responded promptly, their enthusiasm for addressing the issues appeared to be lacking. Given its current limitations, the software struggles to fulfill the purpose of keeping visitors engaged with my site after viewing a video.

In conclusion, while the software has some functional capabilities, it needs significant improvements, particularly regarding branding and visitor retention. I would recommend considering other options if you are looking for a more customized and user-friendly video recording solution.
