Q: About taxes

Hi,

I find this offer very interesting but I have some questions about how taxes are handled :

1. I've seen somebody here saying that taxe rates could only have 2 digits, was that fixed to include more possible digits?

2. Can you have more than one tax applied on items? For example, I live in Quebec, Canada and we have the federal GST at 5% and the provincial QST at 9.975%. I often see platforms that only offer one tax possibility for a sale.

3. Can you configure which tax is applied depending on the location of the buyer?

4. Can you have multiple languages options on the front end, for the customer?

5. If we can have multiple front end languages, can we keep the back end (admin) in english anyways? I prefer english for the admin part, but I need french and english for the customers.

A: Tax rates with more than two digits
Yes, that fix is already included in today’s update and should be fully deployed by tomorrow. You’ll be able to add tax rates like 9.975% without any issues.

Multiple taxes on items
Definitely! We use a nexus-based tax system, so you can add multiple taxes for different states or regions. For example, adding both GST (5%) and QST (9.975%) for Quebec is fully supported.

Location-based tax configuration
Yes, our system automatically calculates and applies the correct taxes based on the buyer’s location. It’s designed to be compliant with regional tax rules.

Multi-language front end
Yes, the front end supports multiple languages. Since you’re in Canada, you can offer both English and French to your customers — and more languages are supported depending on your audience.

Different language for back end (admin)
Absolutely — the admin panel will remain in English by default, even if the front end is multilingual. So you can manage everything in English while offering a localized shopping experience to your customers.
