Q: New Add-on "Point of Sale"
I really appreciate that you brought back Tier 2, thank you very much! :)
I see that also a new add-on "Point of Sale" is available – what exactly does it mean?

May 26, 2026A: Hi,
Great question! The Point of Sale (POS) add-on lets you sell in person — at a store counter, pop-up, market stall, or event — using the same LaunchMyStore account that runs your online store. Everything stays in sync: one inventory, one customer list, one set of orders.
Here's what's included:
Cashier terminal (runs in any browser)
Fast, keyboard-friendly checkout
Product search, barcode/camera scan, variants & live stock
Add customers, apply coupons or on-the-fly discounts
Split-tender payments (cash + card + UPI + wallet + gift card in one sale)
Customer Display Screen 🆕
A dedicated second-screen mode that faces the buyer
Live view of items being scanned, line prices, discounts, taxes and running total
Shows your store logo, promotional messages and a thank-you screen after payment
Works on any second monitor, tablet or TV connected to the till — just open /pos/customer-display on that screen and it pairs with the active shift
Builds trust at the counter (the buyer sees every item ring up in real time, just like at a supermarket)
Shift & cash management
Open/close shifts with opening float and end-of-day reconciliation
Multiple cashiers can share one drawer in the same shift
Cash drops, paid-in/paid-out, full cash audit trail
X-Report (mid-shift snapshot) and Z-Report (end-of-day) for your accounts
Manager-only force-close for abandoned shifts
Returns, refunds & exchanges
Refund to original payment or to store credit
Full or partial returns with automatic stock restock
Exchanges with new line items
Permission-gated so only authorised staff can refund
Hardware support
Thermal receipt printers (Star CloudPRNT + generic ESC/POS via WebUSB)
Cash drawer kick on cash refunds
Barcode scanners (USB and Bluetooth)
Email receipts to customers
Staff & permissions
PIN login per cashier
Role flags: open drawer, close shift, refund, pair hardware, edit settings
Per-staff activity log
Reports & analytics
Gross sales, order count, per-shift dashboards
Declared-vs-expected cash variance
POS orders flow into your normal sales analytics
Fully connected to your store
Warehouse-aware — each shift is tied to a location, so the right stock is decremented
Same tax rules, same coupons, same payment providers as your online checkout
Marketplace app functions (discounts, cart transforms, payment customisations) also work at the till
Every POS sale is a normal order in your admin, tagged as POS
Where to find it
/pos — overview & setup
/pos/tool — the cashier till (after PIN login)
/pos/customer-display — open on a second monitor for the buyer-facing screen
