Q: Clarification on device activation, web access, and differences in iOS vs. lifetime license.
I’d like to understand how the codes work and what is considered a “device.”
If I activate it through my iPhone (iOS), will I still be able to use the web version normally? Or is the web version counted as a separate device?
If it does count as a device, would I need to activate it on the web as well in order to view or download my data there, or only if I want to record/transcribe?
Also, how does the activation process work? I didn’t see a specific section in the app for that.
For clarification, is the lifetime license different from the one being sold on iOS? For example, if I purchase the lifetime license through iOS, would it grant access only on iOS or across all devices?

Great questions – I’m happy to explain how it all works 💜
📱 What counts as a device
Each physical device (for example, an iPhone, Android phone, or computer) counts as one device.
The web version is also counted as one separate device.
🔑 How activation works
If you bought your license on AppSumo, you need to redeem your code at Account manager https://account.letterly.app/ That’s where you activate or transfer your license between devices.
🌍 Using iOS and web
If you’ve already activated Letterly on your iPhone, the web version will count as a second device.
Even if you just want to view or download your notes from your computer, you need a second license.
💫 Lifetime license
If you have any questions about our cross-platform lifetime plan, please email us at hi@letterly.app – we'll be happy to help you choose the right option.
I hope this clears everything up. Thank you again for your questions!
