Q: A reminder to Noah Kagan

"There are a few bad actors taking advantage of our community. We are going to do everything we can to ensure that our partners are honoring the terms they agreed to and treating our community with respect. We're beefing up our legal to make sure that those who are acting in bad faith are held accountable." - Noah Kagan (October 2024)

How does supporting Logically on AppSumo align with your statement, Noah?

I agree. I was a huge fan of Afforai, but it now seems like a scam.

I am not blaming Appsumo at all as I am sure there dealings with Afforai, or Logically, are honorable, but Logically themselves are coming across as anything but.

I could show you my message thread with AppSumo arguing about how they can justify Afforai/Logically's business practice with their claim "All future plan updates."

If a partner can:
Kill a legacy plan name,
Introduce a new "Unlimited" tier with better capabilities, and
Leave lifetime users stuck on a crippled, quasi-free tier…
…then the "lifetime" promise becomes meaningless marketing blabla

I do blame this platform for not doing their job correctly in vetting the companies in defense of us, their customers. The founder is a Forbes 30 under 30 from years ago, thus I think he uses his connections to bypass due diligence. Noah should absolutely blacklist Logically & the founder to NEVER allow them back here. I WANT MY MONEY BACK

Appsumo do listen. Pretty sure they have rigid checks too. Looks like Alec Nguyen and Logically fooled them, so I don't blame Appsumo. I trust that, now they realize Logically have done something that is against various trading regulations, they'll take action otherwise Noah saying "We're beefing up our legal to make sure that those who are acting in bad are held accountable." means nothing.

@Philip... I've a lengthy email thread with customer support about my complaint regarding the "all future update" clause. I can tell you, you're wrong! But then again. I don't care anymore, because this experience and the subsequent conversation with AppSumo, has been a lesson to me. I vote with my money, and my money now goes elsewhere.

@triangleforces So sorry to hear that. Must confess I'm surprised Appsumo have allowed Logically to do what they've done. Hopefully they'll learn from it, as I'm sure they wouldn't want to knowingly upset Appsumo users, and these bad vibes do have a habit of getting out into the wild, but I think it will be more damaging for Alex Nguyen than Appsumo, as his reputation will be tarnished for years.
